You know that feeling, when someone is supposed to be home at a certain time, and they are not? How it gets worse, the next day, and you have checked every logical explanation for where that person may be--

And they are still not there?

So, if anyone might know where Archie may be- since he did not come home last night after his shift, and there were no notes in the Security Office- if they would please tell the panicking former Valkyrie.

Or, you know- finding out that he is missing also works.

"He is on sword quest."

She did promise to tell.

Svava blinks, looking (up) to Hel.

"... What?"

If she weren't a goddess of the "grim and dread" sort, she'd facepalm.

"Sword quest. He has to find his sword and bring it back to you. Or you can't get married."

It is just that Svava's thoughts were not going in that direction, at least to start.

"But Archie doesn't know about-" Svava begins, then stops suddenly, staring at Hel.

"You should have told him."

Faintly disapproving,

"He heard it from me, instead, and I don't know what that is going to do to the whole quest. It isn't usually the goddess of the damned who sends people out to get married."

...Nobody should beat up Archie but Hel, maybe?

"Its a different time, different place. I didn't think it was needed-" Svava frowns, her eyes bright.

"Where did he go? He can't go out the front door."

"Of course it is needed."

She gives Svava a slightly chiding look,

"You may still die. I don't think you would find each other again in the next life if he didn't do it. Part of what keeps you together, as you are.

He went into the Dreaming. Many quests are done through dreams."

"I have been in the Dreaming, here at Milliways- it is far from safe." Svava snaps, before her breath catches.

"But this is the end, or so it should be. Finally, after everything else."

Her brows raise and she looks down at Svava. Very far down at Svava,

"Only the gods end at Ragnarok, and not all of them. Things continue. You will continue. If a quest is without danger, it is not a worthy thing."

Now her voice is very disapproving, flat and stone-cold. Ice cold. Mist and grey cold. Niflheim lodges in her voice,

"As should be obvious to you by the fact that this Archie is from a time so very far from when Svava was born, and is yet Helgi."

"Different worlds than these- I still don't know how this all happened." Quietly, looking down.

"I thought I had lost him twice, when I went back. ...I don't think I could bare to loose him again, if he doesn't return from this, Hel."

"His part of the quest is to find the sword."

She says,

"And your quest is to wait."

"Gods." Svava reaches up to rub at her face.

"When did he leave?"

"Yes."

She would, normally, be amused by Svava's comment about gods. Right now she's still somewhat bitchy about getting snapped at,

"Last night."

"Out back, past the woods." Not quite a question, as Svava looks at the back door.

"Yes."

And this time she's biting back sarcastic comments.

Actually, she's proud of herself for that.

She blinks, and with a faint frown, Svava looks back to Hel.

"Thank you."

"You are welcome."

She informs the ex-Valkyrie,

"Congradulations on your wedding to come."

And then she moves back toward the fire, and Baldur.

"Svava? Are you alright?"

This may be after Svava has talked to Hel- so 'alright' has a given value of 'not much'. She has been sitting, watching the back door, fretting. She looks up to Bianca, biting her lip.

"... I don't know?"

"Tell me?"

Svava sighs, closing her eyes.

"Archie's gone." Softly. "Out back, and to the Dreaming."

She puts her hands on her hips (at least she still has them).

"Why?"

"... its Tradition. But I didn't tell him. Hel did."

"What kind of tradition?"

"From Midworld. The vikings." Svava smiles wryly, humorlessly.

"The groom, before the wedding, goes out on a quest to find one of the swords belonging to his ancestors."

"...Well. How curious."

"... Hel told him. I didn't." Eyes on her hands now.

"Was I wrong, for that?"

"Depends on why you didn't."

"I thought I had lost Archie- not once, but twice. I didn't want to risk him again." She shakes her head slowly.

"Things are different here, so... I thought it wouldn't need to be done."

Bianca thinks that Svava should have told him, but she has Marius' lies echoing in her head and doesn't say a word.

Svava looks up at Bianca, eyes still worried.

".. Either way, what I should have done or no- he's gone, now. And my duty to wait for him, until he returns."

"Do you want some company?"

"..... please?"

"As long as I can sit."

Svava blinks, looking back to Bianca-

And not that she did not notice the other woman's state, it just did not quite register.

"... But you should be sitting- I am sorry."

Bianca gives her a wrily amused look.

"I didn't know." She smiles faintly, standing to get a chair for Bianca. "How long?"

"Five months. We are staying in Haven at the moment, so time moves faster there then here."

"So it will happen sooner." She nods at that. "At least for us here."

"Exactly. Times three time."

"So... A month for here, perhaps?" Svava blinks, eyeing Biana.
