Molly isn't in the gardens, for a change.
She was there earlier, but finished her work, and is now sitting on a large rock by the lake with a brightly colored mass of canvas that will be a magnificent kite, once it's assembled.
She could use magic to get it aloft once it's ready, but the traditional way is much more fun. Unfortunately, a kite this size would take two people to get it in the air.
Wanna help?

"I'm glad to hear it. This is a kite! And I've just about finished putting it together."
She holds it up so that Agnes can see that it's shaped like a phoenix.

"And what's it do?"
no subject
Molly attaches the last of the tail strips to the base of the kite, and hops down from the rock.
"Would you like to help me get it in the air? It's a perfect day for it."
no subject
She gives the contraption a onceover when Molly gets the tail attached and shrugs again. "Okay, sure. Do you need me to help you cast a spell on it?"
* Assuming it didn't get stuck. The air in some parts of Ankh-Morpork isn't breathed so much as chewed.

She grins and gathers the spool of kite string.
"We could spell it up, or do it the old fashioned way. It's designed to float on the air currents, but you have to get it up into the air currents first."

"And which of us do you think is going to be able to actually run?"
She reaches for the kite.
no subject
"It's not a marathon, but I don't mind doing it."
She hands the enormous kite to Agness and walks out to an open space, letting string off the spool as she goes.
"All right, I'm going to start running that way."
She points along the edge of the lake, away from the trees.
"You hold the kite up, and when you feel the string tugging at it, toss it as high up into the air as you can!"

It's said with a grin, as Molly lets off even more string, and then begins to jog away.
As luck would have it, a nice gust of wind comes along just as the string pulls tight.

If it doesn't work, then she'll consider magic.

"Isn't it pretty?"
no subject
"It's beautiful!"

Molly offers the spool over.
"It's easy enough...more string makes it go higher, and pulling on it one way or another can make it swoop a bit. The kite and the wind do most of the work."

When a new gust of wind catches the kite and tugs on the string, Agnes positively beams.

She stands watching the kite for a while. It really was worth every knut, er, penny.
"What have you been up to? I haven't seen you in a while."
They needn't go into that whole awful mess about Jack again.

"Well, I've been in my room a lot," Agnes confesses. "And I did sort of help get rid of a problem from my world."

Agnes has really got the hand of the kite flying!
"I've been spending a lot of time out here, I guess. The weather's been nice, and the bar gets crowded and noisy."
no subject
She motions with the roll of string. "Do you want to have a go? It is yours, after all."
no subject
"A sword fight would definitely be hard to miss! I was going to say that I was out of the bar for three days, but it was only a few hours in bar time... how long ago was it?"
no subject
Had it really been that long? Time was really crazy in this place.

Ah, well, such is the life at Milliways.
"I'm sure something equally bizarre will be comong up soon."
