River is perched on a barstool, happily sipping... something. It's very pink. And fizzy, and equipped with a curly straw and a small plastic monkey.
Even the monkey is pink.
(River's wearing brown -- her long coat -- and shades of yellow. The contrast of colors is something Kaylee and Wash would both approve of.)

"But-fly! Pwetty!"
The elephant trumpets again. He aparently does not like being ignored. The monkey swings on the elephant's trunk.

She's too preoccupied by the butterfly to have noticed the elephant's trumpeting yet, or at least to have interpreted it as a call for attention. Her hands are resting on the table, though, in easy reach.

The monkey jumps all over his back wildly. There's a Pink! sea! Run!
The elephant turns and stampedes away from the approaching Pink! drink lava juice of dooooom.

If River were sensible, she'd be grabbing for napkins. Instead, she watches wide-eyed and worried.

"Fall. Wet." He nods.
His overalls are getting pink dots on them, which he thinks is very amusing. He points at them. "Pi'k!"
The elephant, now at the edge of the Pink lava madness sniffles the drink with his trunk. mm. fruity.
Meet Trunk the Vaccum!
The puddle becomes smaller.

The monkey, on the other hand, has gotten bored, and well, that is dangerous. He hops off the elephant's back and jumps into the puddle. The puddle splatters pink dots. The monkey blinks. Then he jumps again - higher. More splatter! Ooh, this is fun.

Harold tries it.
"Oooh! It good!! Like.
Elefant like too." He points.
"...and monkey, think."
The butterfly has disappeared in the confusion.

"Made of pink," River says happily, and looks around for the butterfly. She spots it on a rafter, and tilts her head back to watch.

The butterfly on the rafters slowly, line by line, disappears. It's like it's going back in time from when Harold drew it.
Harold offers the pink hand to the dog, who licks it. Harold giggles wildly. It tickles!
The now pink monkey is still playing, and the bloated looking elephant is wobbling a bit.

(Butterflies. They're yours now, sister.)
"Stop," she whispers. "Rewind."
(Yes.)
Eventually, Harold's giggling catches her attention, and she looks over with a small smile.
