Post breakfast shifts are decidedly more fun than the graveyard pre-breakfast shift. For a start, there's a little less tiredness, but as there's more people around, it's also a lot less boring.

Not that Mel tolarates boring for long. Take now, for instance. Your Security officer for the morning is in a section of open floor by the observaton window, attempting to build a house of cards. It's a training exercise, see? Steady hands, all that toy.

She's not as good as it as she'd like.

Miho frowns, thoughtfully.

"Normally I'd agree with you, but there's just too much hassle involved. Besides, Lilly'd kill me if I got blood all over her nice brothel!"

Mel shrugs, neither frowning nor being particularly cheerful about it.

"It washes off," she says. "Besides, people listen to it."

"It doesn't," she disagrees. "At least, it does off skin, but stains horribly. Why do you think I always wear black?"

"Because you have no colour sense?" Mel suggests. She never wears black, herself. "Or maybe because you have a sense of style that goes beyond mere colour?"

"I do have colour sense," she grins. "I just happen to like black."

"Uh huh," says the girl in a bright red shirt over blue baggy pants. "When do I get to see this colour sense?"

Miho gives her a wicked grin, and points out that her underwear is always red. . .

Mel shrugs, and expresses her opinion that underwear's for other people.

But. . . red! Scarlet!

Also? Tight jeans. 'Nuff said.

Ew. At least Mel's pants give a healthy breeze.

This would be why the scarlet undies.

That's enough no-verbal communitcation, don't we think?

Miho smirks at Mel. "You should join our cross-discipline training group."

Mel raise an eyebrow.

"About underwear?"

What did Miho think they were non verbally talking about?

Don't worry, that's just a total subject change. Mel's response, however, is enough to make the little assassin crack up, snorting into her drink.

"No. Weapons. And fighting styles. And so on."

Oh.

"Oh," Mel considers this. "Maybe. I only have the two weapons, and my style is kinda instinctive. I like it that way."

She shrugs.

"Everyone has something to teach and something to learn. It'll be interesting. But if not, then no problem."

"Training's really not my thing," Mel says. "Even without my powers, I think I'll pass."

Miho grins, and sticks out her tongue.

"Wimp. You just don't want me to whup your ass." But she's laughing as she says it.

Mel smirks, clearly caught out.

"My reputation might suffer..." she protests.

Miho snickers.

"You have a reputation?" She askes, eyebrow up.

"Oh, you meant as a hard fighter. You owe me for dumping me on my ass in the mud!"

"So you wanna rematch just because I'm weak?"

Mel shrugs. "OK. Just 'cause I don't train doesn't mean I won't fight."

Miho looks offended.

"That's not what I meant. And when it comes to training, I know you don't want any martial training, but you might be interested in aikido techniques."
