Raven is settled in an armchair by the fire, legs sprawling over one arm, head tilted back across the other.

It's better than stretching, in some ways.

He's holding a plate of cookies on his belly, and occasionally eats one.

The rest of the time he hums, fingers picking absently at the unravelling sleeve of his coat.

It must be doppelganger night at the fire, because Jack's seated there, too. Thinking.

Raven blinks at him, tilting his head a little.

It looks funny on someone who is lying down.

Still thinking. Still looking into the fire.

Perhaps Raveh should hit him with a cookie.

If only Raven were seated on the couch, he'd hit Jack with a pillow.

As it is he just laughs, quietly.

"Better if your face does not stick so, yes?"

He would say this even if Jack had no expression at all.

Because Raven is an ass.

Jack closes his eyes and raises his eyebrows. "Hello, Raven."

"Hello."

Raven grins brightly.

"It has been a long day, perhaps?"

"Long day, long week--you?"

"Long, yes. It is not so much a surprise, I do not think."

He eats another cookie.

"Though it is not so difficult to keep busy."

He rubs his forehead. "Yeah, busy. And catching up with old friends." Raven would know something about that, yes?

"They were running?"

Raven is teasing.

Maybe.

"No."

"This made it easier, perhaps."

"She's my ex-fiancee. It won't be easy."

Raven blinks.

"The sex was problematic?"

"We naver had sex."

Raven does not smirk.

"Possibly that was the problem, yes?"

"No."

"Then it is a question of love?"

Someone is prying.

Prying is distracting.

This might be the point.

"You could say that."

"I could, yes."

Raven blinks at him.

"Would you?"

"I know how she feels about me."

Raven nods.

"It is a very good non-answer."

"Yep."

He's saying that a lot tonight. He must think he is Southern.

"You are wanting a cookie?"

"You have tollhouse?"
