There is one Lyle Norg, in the bar, at a table. He wandered down from the upstairs a few minutes ago, in hopes of finding something interesting - but it's hard to find something interesting when you're feeling restless.

There are so many things he could find to be entertained by, but in the end, apparently he's settled for his own devices - staring intently as his own hand as he turns it invisible and then back again. Invisible... back again.... invisible.... you get the picture.

Might you come and entertain him? He's not doing such a good job by himself.

Magic. Too much here seems to rely on magic. It makes Brainy surprisingly uncomfortable.

"Have you found a magic-user yet?" he asks. It had never been specifically stated that Lyle would be the one searching one down, but he's the people person, so it would be the logical choice.

"Was I supposed to be looking?" Lyle inquires, raising an eyebrow. "Not yet, but I'm betting they're not scarce around here."

He'll find one soon enough.

"We need to find one," Brainy says, then pauses. "You're better at dealing with people than I am."

Brainy hasn't actually spent as much time looking around the bar as he probably should have--he's been pretty busy working on some of the things that he'd really prefer start functioning. He's not entirely sure what kind of person he'd be looking for, anyway; in a place like this, almost anyone could have magic.

"You deal with me just fine," Lyle points out. Not that he doesn't understand where Brainy is coming from; it just... requires noting. "Do we want to make sure this person is from our world? Will the magic be different if we don't?"

Brainy doesn't entirely know how to respond to the first comment. "You're you" isn't an explanation and he knows it, but "You're smart" is too close to a compliment for him to be comfortable with it and "You get me" is imprecise.

He settles for answering the second part first. Maybe Lyle won't call him on it.

"Someone from our world would be the best option," he says. "But if that's impossible, someone from a world fairly similar to ours could probably be used for at least testing the feasibility of our plans."

Lyle would enjoy calling him on it. But there's no way to bring it back into the topic of conversation - at least not at the moment. But you can bet he'll be looking for an opportunity.

"I can ask that girl we ran into when we first came here," he says. "Steph. She might be more willing to help when she's in a better mood."

Brainy nods. She hadn't seemed to know much about it when they asked, but she'd also been rather annoyed for some reason.

He'll leave that to Lyle.

"Another option would be to find someone who specializes in inter-dimensional travelling." In a place like this, there's bound to be someone.

"That might be harder. There's indications of magic - but how could you possibly spot something like that in a place like this?"

It would help if they had Imra along. But obviously, she wasn't here, so they were sprocked on that little route.

Brainy considers this. "Perhaps we should question the barstaff," he suggests, meaning that Lyle should. "Or maybe they have a message system of some sort--a non-digital posting board."

He wishes the communicators would work from here; it would be easier to just ask Jenni if she knows anyone who could help them.

"They do, actually." While Brainy has been spending his time on the function of things, Lyle has been spending quite a bit of it exploring. Someone had to do it, after all. He's found a few things.

"I guess we could put something up there. I don't think Interlac would be very common here, though."

Brainy gives Lyle a look.

"I do speak 21st century English fluently, you know," he points out. "I'll write up a...request, and you can talk to the bar staff."

He pauses.

"Although I think we should try to find a more specific use for magic than just seeing what it can do, first."
