So, he hadn't meant to come back to the bar yet. It's one thing getting your ass kicked by your enemies, quite another to let the world at large see the results. But when there's a screaming kid at home and you've got a headache, anything becomes preferable - and anyway, he doesn't care what people think, right?

And so, instead of sitting in a booth as normal, Ramon's at the bar in plain sight. If you point out that he looks like someone bashed the hell out of his face, he probably won't offer to share the tequila.

"Yes, she is."

His voice is wry, amused,

"As is everyone else I know."

'Glad to hear it,' he says drily, and picks up his drink from the returning rat.

'How long before you're back to normal? Usually, I mean.'

"A week or so."

He says with a shrug,

"Here, rather than normally. The Lady Bar cheats, I think."

Ramon raises an eyerow at him. Whether this is noticeable given the state of his face is debateable, but it happens all the same.

'What do you mean? How can she?'

It suddenly occurs to him that it's almost summer here in the bar. Which means the new addition to the s'Ffalenn contingent should be showing up soon.

"With magic."

He points at his cup,

"I suspect there is more than mere broth in here."

He could be right. He could be wrong. He simply doesn't know.

He looks at him and just...can't process it, so lets it go. He has no clue how magic would be added, or if it's possible or what, so he doesn't think on it.

'How much longer until the baby?'

This is somethng that's been playing on his mind every now and again, though he tries not to let that show.

"A month?"

If he sounds uncertain, its only because time here and time there get confusing for him. Really.

"I think we are moving back here, however. So that I may be closer to the Healers."

'Yeah?'

Ramon lights a cigarette and watches him lazily.

'Up to you, of course. Presumably the place is still standing. I think it'll be nice to go back, Random might stop worrying about the boy getting drowned in the sea. Is Bianca still there now, or in the House of Arch?'

"The House of Arch."

He says quietly, sipping at his drink and smiling a bit,

"The place stands even yet. We have done nothing to it."

And, after a pause,

"I have not set food in the kitchens."

'Good. There's enough trees around the place, we don't need you adding your own brand of botany to the interior.'

Though at the same time, it would certainly be unique. And possibly quite funny but there's always the danger a tree like that might eat the baby. Random wouldn't be happy about that.

'So, what's the plan now? You're just waiting around to be a father? Nothing else set up that can kill you or put you in mortal danger?'

He considers that for a moment, and then,

"I have significantly annoyed a personification of evil who is known for breaking the rules of the bar. I have also offered mystical support for a group which plans to keep others from being infected with lycanthropy's curse."

We never said Ramon's job would be easy?

He opens his mouth...and then closes it again.

'Right.'

A hand runs carefully over his face and he says, in measured tones,

'Is there any chance whatsoever that you could stay out of trouble for more than a week or two at a time?'

"There is,"

He decides eventually,

"a chance. I would not hold my breath, were I you."

'Yeah.'

And suddenly, the headache is worse and the noise of the bar grates on every nerve. A walk on a beach sounds rather less stressful than being here, so he stands up. Of course, it may be because he's trying to bite back a comment or two he really has no right to make.

'I'm going. I'll see you soon - come and check to make sure you're not killing yourself. Again.'

"Good evening, Sanluin."

It also means, ama'idan.

He was regretting the tone as soon as words left his mouth, but he can't take it back now. So he just nods once and heads to the door.
