Running cleared his head, and talking with his wife cleared up a few other things. Wells is back in the Bar now, going over a name roster and scowling somewhat. He's neglecting his beer, too. That's how distracted he is.

Makes a good target, maybe. Or not. You never know with these ex-military guys.

Melou stops on his way to the door.

"Hey, Harry. How you been?"

Harry blinks, looking up, and smiles a little. "Oh, hullo, Melou. Doing all right, I suppose. Got a bit of planning I've been working on for when I go back home. Yourself?"

"Just on my way out myself. Been here about a week straight now. Had a bit of a problem." He sighs and flops in a nearby chair. "You heading out soon?"

"Once I've got the squad together and prepped for this mission, yeah," Wells says. "Time's stopped outside, but hanging about planning too long'll ruin things, in my experience. So- within the month, if not earlier."

Melou nods.

"Yeah, you can only think about things so long before it becomes overthinking. I'll wish you good luck now, then, since I migh tno be back before you're off. Hope I am, but I can never tell."

"Thanks," Wells says. "Want a souvenir, if I get back before you do?"

"A souvenir?" He raises an eyebrow. "What'd you have in mind?"

"Well, I have it on good authority that they train cute furry animals to tear your head off at the neck at this place I'm going," Wells says. "Could do you for a pelt and fangs maybe, if I don't manage to catch one and bring it back t'you alive."

He's thinking killer rabbits.

"That'd be great." Melou grins.

"Evening, Andrew," Wells says, laying down the roster. "How've you been?"

"Is that so?" Wells wonders aloud. "And?"

And she's up for helping, depending on when this is going down.

"Good," says Wells. "The sooner we get this mess dealt with the better. I think we've about got our people on the ground, if we can get 'em properly protected- Sharpe and me'll be on standard weaponry, Ace wants to come along with the explosives, and Calrissian said he was interested in joining the fun, so we're about set for conventional fire. Still need an infiltrator, though."

...alright, maybe not. Ichigo's never liked beer himself, but being only fifteen, that may be a good thing.

And yes, he is watching Wells. Boredom does that to people.

Wells has found, though long trial and very little error, that soldiers who do not notice when they are being watched do not last very long. Thus, he glances up. "Yes?" he asks. Can I help you?"

"Doubt it." It's true. Ichigo very much doubts this man can solve any of his problems, so he's obviously not watching this man for aid.

And no, he's not going to explain himself further. He's in one of those 'speak when spoken to' moods. Not too talkative.

Though this time he does remember the pint of Bass is there.

That's because Zuko being quiet is not right. Zuko's natural state of mind, as far as Ichigo knows, is generally anger. Or at least annoyance.

Aw fuck the silence. Ichigo lets a few minutes tick by, then speaks again.

"You got a name?"

"Harry Wells," says the man, looking up again. "I was wondering when you'd break. Who're you?"

Ichigo bristles slightly at the term. He did not break, he just...

"Ichigo Kurosaki." The man doesn't look like the type to know Japanese, so he's probably safe from any jokes about his name. Damn those multiple translations... "What's that you're reading?"

Wells grins. He's been described as a mean old man, and the only part he takes issue with is 'old'. Forty-three is not old.

"Volunteer roster for a mission," he says. "I've got to pay a call on a couple of bastards back home in my world, so I'm trying to sort out the complement I'll need to go. Why d'you ask?"
