There is one more empty bed in the infirmary.

The reason for that is sitting on the piano, glancing around the bar with sharp green eyes.

He's a little slow still, but really feeling much better.

Puck smiles tolerantly, as if Raven's just told him a joke that's not particularly good.

"Perhaps."

"It is mine to interpret, then?"

Is Puck crazy?

An arched eyebrow.

A moment of consideration.

The conclusion that that's a Really Amusing, Though Admittedly Bad, Idea.

"I suppose I could leave it to your discretion-- such as it is."

"Sometimes I am not so bad at keeping secrets, perhaps."

Raven tilts his head a little farther.

"It is a thing you are wanting?"

Puck laughs, shaking his head.

"It was my hope that you should provide your profound opinion on the matter of my wellbeing."

"Hope is, perhaps, frustrating, yes?"

He blinks.

This is not helpful.

A woeful sigh.

"Apparently. Eternal though it may spring."

"It is a pretty thought, that."

A lie, in some instances, but pretty nonetheless.

"I flatter myself to say I'm rather well-versed in the subject."

The subject of prettiness, of course.

"I am not much for flattery, perhaps."

Raven shrugs.

Then he pokes at Puck's knee.

Puck smiles brightly.

And kicks out cheerfully to discourage knee-poking.

"'Tis a pity. One tends to profit by it."

"I think quick hands are better, perhaps."

He grins brightly.

"Also distraction."

If Raven were less mature, this might be the beginning of an endless round of 'I've got your nooooose'.

Thank God for his maturity, really.

... We're all going to die.

Puck crosses his eyes and sticks out his tongue.

"Neither of which I would know anything about, I suppose."

Raven looks smug.

"You are young, yet. I am sure there is time for you to improve."

Blink.

"Perhaps."

Puck gives him a we-are-not-amused look.

"I were better to learn not to become distracted-- though that, I expect, is a thing not to be helped."

Raven just blinks at him.

"It is so problematic for you?"

Raven would know nothing about that, of course.

Puck blinks back.

"It's in my nature, I should think."

"Better to know, perhaps."

Raven shrugs, shifting around to look at Puck.

Upside-down.

"Or so I often find it."

Puck snorts.

Cleeeeearly impressed.

"I do so envy you."

Raven laughs.

"Everyone does, I think."

Except when they don't.

"And you say you've no care for self-flattery."

Raven beams.

"Sometimes I lie."

Puck smiles, looking rather satisfied.

"At least you're honest about it."

"There are times I make an effort."

He shrugs, and settles back.

The piano bench is not so uncomfortable, perhaps.
