Scorpius, in a brief interlude from his summer holiday, drops in for a brief visit and leaves Yuletide gifts for Parker, Lily, Annabeth, Posner, Orpheus, Mia, Cepheus, Draco, Kate, Alex Rider, William Evans, Sameth, and Albus with Bar.

Mia has found out that Cepheus and Rachel are playing a new game.

It's nothing bad; all that's really happened is that they've discovered that they enjoy listening to each others' tummies. The problem is that Cepheus now wants to play this game with everyone. This leads to the toddler running up to people, trying to lift up their shirts, and then attempting to put his ear to their bellies.

Mia's been trying to teach him that he needs to ask permission before he can listen to someone's tummy. More importantly, he has to wait for them to answer and the answer has to be yes before he can lift up the shirt and listen.

What's ended up happening instead is that now the two of them are caught up in the game themselves. At least as long as he's listening to Mama's tummy, Cepheus isn't going to try listening to anyone else's.

Cepheus is further restrained when it's Mama's turn to listen to his tummy and she distracts him with tummy kisses.

"No, Mama!" he says while he's giggling. "Lissen!"

"All right, I'll listen," Mia says before putting her ear on her son's tummy.

Watch your shirts, fellow patrons. It'll be Cepheus's turn soon and he wants to find a new playmate.

Astoria had been quite ready to write Milliways off as some odd hallucination; an unmentioned side-effect of using those Patented Daydream Charms.

(Not that she would ever admit using one of those.)

So imagine her surprise when she walks through the door again, laundry basket in hand, and finds herself back in the bar.

"Again?" she asks no one in particular.

Guppy leaves some little cards with flowers on at the bar.

Mia, Draco and Cepheus; Enzo; Amanda; Dot, Bob and Mairi; Belle and twins; Kate Barlow; Kate Bishop; Will Scarlett; Mikey and Magellan; Gene Hunt; Ginny Weasley; Remy Hadley; Teja. )

After he's delivered the notes, he hangs around at the bar with tea, in case he's missed anyone or anyone wants to ask details.

[ooc: Tried to pick friends of Guppy who would want to be at a kids' party; if I have missed anyone out, please let me know and I'll add an invite. Party post open from now indefinitely and millitimed to 1st July.]

He had tried keeping a respectable distance, focusing on his family and duties back on Lunar. Better to not bother when he learned who was now in the bar, and especially the time they were in the bar. He had offered to help, and it was refused unsurprisingly. They had no reason to trust him.

But his kind and dear wife was likewise ridiculed and insulted? After all the effort and expense taken to assist that self-righteous hypocritical Potter? He wasn't going to stand for it. So as it was, Draco swept into the bar, only taking a passing glance at some of the changes in the place. He would go to check on his wife and son in a moment, but he wanted to see if that worm was wriggling in here.

Cepheus is napping, curled up in his mother's arms. All the better for him not to see her brooding.

Mrs. Malfoy is sitting in an armchair near the fireplace, a cup of tea that's long since gone cold and the family's Tales of Beedle the Bard by her. Story time was simple, if repetitive: a few tellings of Cepheus's current favorite, The Wizard and the Hopping Pot. This copy, with notes from Dumbledore, has occasionally brought up the family name.

Malfoy.

Ever since her rather disastrous conversation with Harry, she's been questioning herself. Her morals, her actions, everything she ever was, is, or will be. Surely something's been compromised in her youth so that she could be with Draco, though Draco has grown to the extent that such compromise is no longer necessary. But is he the one who's changed? She certainly couldn't have been static all these years. She must be different from the young lady she once was. Perhaps she's let herself slip.

Does marrying someone also espouse you to the ideas of the whole family, regardless of how you may feel about them?

Mrs. Malfoy's thin fingers stroke through her son's hair, more for her comfort than his as she continues to ask herself.

Is she really nothing but another Malfoy?

There are two young men behind the counter for Happy Hour tonight. They weren't forced into bartending through a series of napkins and Bar claiming she needs the rest, they asked to be here.

They have a Project for anyone willing to participate.

It might interesting. It could be disastrous. It is what it is.

After careful consideration, and with very little (read: no) consultation, Scorpius, with his very fine penmanship, takes charge of the Specials Board -

ASK ALBUS ABOUT THE SPECIAL

- and then nudges Albus to the front to take care of any waiting customers.

(He's just helping his shy friend to break out of his shell. Honest!)

[OOC: Two pups, two muns, and a bottle of Veritaserum, Happy Hour is now open! Annnd closed to new threads. Sleepy Hour is upon us. Slows are love.]

When one is set to pass onto death, they expect to find peace, or at the very least, an opportunity for rest. While there were reasons for Ghaleon to disbelieve that his second death would be any more permanent than the first, but he had chosen to hope anyway.

Perhaps his hope had been found, perhaps not. Time is very strange in the life afterlife, thirty seconds could be thirty years could be thirty seconds. But no matter how much time he may have received, he did not have it now.

Suddenly finding oneself in a bar is not peace. Nor is the fact that no man, woman or thing is recognizable to him. It's not peace: but perhaps it will be interesting.

Ghaleon will decide soon enough if he objects to this turn of events. For now, he will watch, and wait.

Once he got used to this whole "world" thing he's had to put up with, Cepheus has been a really easygoing baby. Or at least, his parents were able to handle everything he was figuratively throwing at them.

But Mia doesn't know what's gotten into Cepheus today. He's been fussing and crying almost nonstop and she can't figure out why.

And she has to work tomorrow.

She's claimed a rocking chair in a quiet, secluded part of the fireplace area and she's trying to calm him down with every technique she's learned in the last seven months.

Sorry for any excess noise.

It is generally believed that first-time patrons to Milliways bar enter through the front door.

Most of the time, this is true.

But tonight, in the case of two wizards and one witch, their arrival point is really quite unusual.

After a loud pop! (the familiar sound of Apparating), the trio (exhausted, scared, dirty and very much worse for wear) ends up Outdoors by the trees - a fair distance away from the Bar.

The scenery is terribly familiar. It does, after all, resemble the grounds at Hogwarts, with their scenic mountains, lakes, and mild temperatures. But there's something ... off about it. Something a little different.

In the midst of their confusion, it is Hermione Granger who falls first, barely stirring after the events at Malfoy Manor, sagging heavily between her two best friends - one Harry Potter, and one Ron Weasley.

[ooc: three pups, three muns. open to anyone who might be around the area! on behalf of the trio - thank you so much for tagging, guys! harry-mun has gone off to bed, so we'll be slowtiming some of these threads from here. :) ]

[OOM: Every door has two sides.]

A girl is standing inside the door to Milliways, looking around with an expression of mildly perplexed interest. Much as one might regard a flock of hypothetical penguins that have mysteriously decided to roost in one’s hypothetical garden.

Her long blonde hair is a little frizzy from sitting in front of the oven, and her clothes are a bit more ‘mis’ than they are ‘matched.’ She is wearing purple oven mitts, and is holding a pan of hot lemon-ginger scones in one hand and a wand in the other.

“Well,” Luna says, looking around this strange place that has appeared where the pantry should be. “My goodness.”

It’s quite a first impression. On both sides.

Moist is whistling as he enters the Bar, this time it was nice and appeared in his room and not someplace else.

When he sits down and gets a note asking him to bartend, he just grins before figuring out a few specials and asks for something to eat before she sleeps. A bowl of fried paradoxes pops up and Moist looks rather nostalgic when he takes his first bite.

Specials
Field of Green
Miner's Lung
Farmer's Cocktail
Tell me what paradoxes are supposed to taste like and your drink's free.

Then Moist keeps eating and trying to figure out why the paradoxes taste so much of Uberwald.

[OOM: Back in March-ish or so, Scorpius comes to visit the Lunar version of his family and learns a bit more about Vane, the Ausas, and how he feels about all of it.

About a month after that, Draco and Mia went on a trip that had an unexpected evening.]

In one section of the bar, Draco was sitting with some tea, but he wasn't alone. The new father was on sitting duty this time around. He was currently reading to Cepheus who was slowly falling asleep, though he'd fuss until his father remembered to rock the baby seat gently. He turned another page of the book of wizarding fairy tales, sometimes he'd glance around the bar. It seemed so different these days, so many unfamiliar faces around.

------------

In another area, Kate was idly tapping a pencil to rhythm, as she checked over her arrows. Especially the trick arrows. She had a feeling she might need them for something sooner than later. Her bow was resting against the booth seat next to her, but inward so nobody would trip on it.

--------------
In yet another area, George was reading a book in German, and adjusting his glasses. The tea was lying cold, and forgotten. He would occasionally watch some of the other people in the bar. Leery for any possible vampires though. He really could do without the doggy cracks. He also would glance at the wall where the door was supposed to be, and give a very large despondent sigh.

(Another multi-pup post, Bethan inspired me, but keeping it to three for now. Just mention which you want in tags, thanks!)

It was hard being a new first time father. Cepheus was very demanding, rather like his father was at the same age as the now grandmother Narcissa pointed out to him helpfully. She found it endearing and further proof of the Malfoy genes. Still the happy coos from his son were an indication Mia's Ausa line was tempering it some.

But for Merlin's sake, can't the child SLEEP a whole night? Just for once? Please?

Draco had stopped by to surprise Mia with a lovely bouquet of pink and green orchids, but the late night feedings and nappy changes were already wearing on him, leaving the wizard slumped over sleeping at one of the tables.

It's been a few weeks since Tom encountered Marjory Stewart-Baxter again. It's been fewer still since she laid her eggs in his arm. Tom and Marjory have a long, odd history, but he has been judged worthy of incubating her puppetlings.

He doesn't know this important fact. He does know he's having strange, unsettling dreams of late.

Tonight he's in the bar, because he's done nothing but pace about his study and the family room. He's tidied up enough for Door to start giving him looks. He doesn't know why he's so restless. He also doesn't know why the blasted rash on his arm won't go away. Urgh. He does not want to go to St. Mungo's, but none of his magic or home remedy charms seem to be working. Bloody rash. What the hell did he get into?

Scorpius Malfoy is not all that shocked to see Milliways after so much time has passed since he last had his feet in the bar. Life outside has kept him busy enough and seeing Milliways now is only like greeting a good friend that he hasn't talked to in a month.

The boy, now in his sixth year at Hogwarts, merely sets his broom by the door - it has anti-theft charms, thank you very much - and heads straight for Bar. Where he lays a pair of mud-caked Quidditch gloves and goggles on the counter.

"Hel-lo there. Been awhile, hasn't it? I thought maybe I'd been kicked from the club."

But he knows, without even having to ask, he had some growing up to do. Growing up that was best handled outside the complicated realm of Milliways.

"Butterbeer, please. Warm. Practice was brutal."

And the weather not much better.

His robes and gear get a quick cleaning with a wave of his wand.
