Piper’s outside sitting on the grass, staring at the lake. If you look it’s obvious that something happened to her: her clothes look faintly singed and the ends of her hair look..well..crispy. She doesn’t seem to have noticed.

She wouldn't mind company.

She sits down next to Piper.

"I'm Elizabeth. So, why were you challenged to a duel?"

"Oh.." She sighs.

"Because I almost killed a friend of hers."

There's a small raise of her brow. Merely curiosity.

"Why'd you do that?"

"I thought he was a demon and after my boys."

"So, that would classify under maternal instincts?"

She has none, so it's an honest question.

"Why did you think he was a demon, and what did he actually turn out to be?"

"For me I think it would be more reflexes heightened by maternal instincts. Maybe.

He was blinking - that is, moving from one spot to another instantaneously, and he was a Jedi ~~Master~~."

"Huh. I've never seen someone do that before, the blinking I mean."

Elizabeth, isn't very big on punishing people, or caring if people kill other people. So long as it doesn't involve her or her friends.

"Have many demons on your world that do this blinking?"

"It's a sign of an upper level demon - being able to blink."

"And, upper level would mean more powerful, right? Like alpha verses normal."

And the shifter talk comes out.

Raising her eyebrow slightly, "Yes, more powerful.

Alpha?
...like Alpha male?" Her lips are NOT twiching with amusement. It's a trick of the light.

She gives a small bob of her head, a small smile on her lips. "Yea, or Alpha female, should she be strong enough.

So, what are you, that you have to worry about demons?"

Huh.

"A witch.

Specifically, a Charmed One."

"Charmed one? What's that?"

"The Charmed Ones were prophesied about for many generations. Three sisters: one with the power to see the future, one to freeze and accelerate time, and the last to move objects with her mind. Combined together they're the most powerful witches our world has ever seen." She says this almost like it's been rehearsed. Or if she's heard it often.

Thoughtfully, "Although three sisters turned out to be four. Of course we didn't know that until after Prue died."

She gives a sympathetic nod. "Sounds important. Is it at least fun to have as much responsibility as that sounds like it does? Or just a complicated mess?"

"I was perfectly happy without all the responsiblity.
And it's very complicated. As soon as you think you've got it figured out, something new comes along."

There's a small chuckle. She didn't mean for it to be out loud, not really.

"I don't think that it's a witch thing. Life can be life that in general. Just when you think you know what your going to do with your life, or your day the universe throws you a curve ball and you're knocked off track."

"That's possible.
I've never had the opportunity to separate the two - not really."

She gives a small curious tilt of her head.

"So, genetic trait then?"

A nod.
"From my mother, grandmother and so on."

"Must be nice to at least be able to give a special genetic trait down to children."

No, that's not a small amount of wistfulness. Why do you ask?

"My sons are very powerful, as I imagine my sisters' children will be."

"Powerful is usually a good thing. Means that they'll be able to protect themselves when the time comes that they have to."

"It can also be dangerous.

My oldest can shield himself and those around him from harm, but he was also supposed to become the most powerful force of evil the world had ever seen.
Fortunatly I think we've changed that now.

Do you have any children?"

"Wow. So, now he'll be the most powerful force of good?

No. I don't, and never will."

Her head tilts a bit, causing her hair to fall over her face a bit.
