Ray makes his way down the stairs and out to lakeside, humming to himself. Egon's done some serious scanning work back in his world. There's an approximate location now. It's good.

He hasn't got his 'sabre just at the moment, but Bar was willing to give him a wooden practice sword, and he's perfectly capable of going through basic lightsabre drill techniques from memory. Which he might as well do while he works out how the heck everyone's going to get to the DC area.

"And it's good to see you looking healthy," Naraht returns. He holds up the box. "I have those communicators you ordered. With the exception of mine, I went with the assumption that they would be fitting ears that were approximately humanoid given the roster you gave me. If there have been any late additions who need other pick-ups, I can modify them without much trouble."

"The Utahraptor?" he asks. "I've met her a couple of times. Will she even tolerate a communicator?"

"Ready and rarein' to go!" he says, brightly. "I managed to reconstruct my stun phaser as well. When do we kick ass?"

[identity profile] lt-naraht.livejournal.com 2006-06-13 01:07 am (UTC)(link)
"Mother bless! No, it wouldn't," he says. "If we're going for gratuitious violence and maximum property damange, we'd damn well make sure it goes to the deserving."

He falls silent for a moment.

"You say it's close to your nation's capital? Any possibility that we might get interferrence from other branches of your government's security force? Or is this operation so clandestine that they can't call for back-up without blowing things wide open?"

[identity profile] lt-naraht.livejournal.com 2006-06-13 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
Naraht chuckles darkly, sending out a whiff of steam.

"Any possiblity that something could be leaked to the media just before we go in? I rather like the idea of those bastards being smoked out only to run into the open arms of the press...holos rolling and microphones picking up everything down to their intestines gurgling."

[identity profile] lt-naraht.livejournal.com 2006-06-13 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
"You should ask him before Zero Hour," Naraht says. "It would be the alabaster icing on the marble-cake."

[identity profile] lt-naraht.livejournal.com 2006-06-13 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
"Very! You know...with a little more work, I can give our communicators an extra channel that can be picked up by a person listening on the right frequency. If we want to give a running commentary, that is."

[identity profile] lt-naraht.livejournal.com 2006-06-13 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
Naraht is silent for a moment.

"Do you realize this may be the most widely broadcasted 'covert operation' in history?"

[identity profile] lt-naraht.livejournal.com 2006-06-13 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, I'm not complaining," Naraht says with a laugh. "It just seems kinda weird. I've been on one other covert operation in my career and the goal there was to keep out of sight and quiet. I just wonder what Starfleet Intel would think of an operation where the goal was to be as sharding obvious as possible. The paradigm shift might give them a seizure."

[identity profile] lt-naraht.livejournal.com 2006-06-13 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
"Damn straight!" Naraht says. "One thing I've learned under Captain Kirk is that there's a time and a place to throw away the fardling rulebook."

[identity profile] lt-naraht.livejournal.com 2006-06-13 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
"That is a shame," Naraht says. "The Captain would love an operation like this. Good, clean, against-regulation fun, I think he'd call it."

Rummages in the box to extract one of the communicators "I'll get to work modifying this one for Red. She might need an entire headset rather than just an earpiece. And I'll set the rest up with a 'public channel'. Anything else you need me to do to get us ready?"

[identity profile] lt-naraht.livejournal.com 2006-06-13 02:50 am (UTC)(link)
Naraht bobs.

"I'll go see what I can scare up from the Infirmary, but it might be better to entrust it to one of you humanoids."

A shrug. "My reach leaves somewhat to be desired in cases like this."
