Dinner's long since gone, but Wells is still in the Bar. He's looking for people this time, and maybe a wolf. Depends on who he can find first, really.

*Yrael tilts his head, looking curiously up at Wells.*

Where is home?

"London, for her," says Wells quietly. "Yorkshire for me, these days. We're likely both moving to Yorkshire- I can't live in London any more. Too many people."

He's had quite enough of waking up with mystery meat in his teeth the night of the full moon, thanks. No need to add another flavour to the mix.

I can understand that. I like some room to move about without there always being people underfoot. *Says the cat that is about one-sixth Wells' height.*

I have not visited either Yorkshire or London, but I have been to Scotland quite a few times, and Amsterdam, and Florence, Italy.

Wells' nose wrinkles. "Been to Scotland," he says. "That's where I got infected. Lovely country when it hasn't got huge fucking howling things out to eat your guts in it. Can't say I've seen Florence, although the Army passed me through Italy on the way back from Bosnia." He thinks for a bit. "Hong Kong was interesting. I liked Hong Kong, even if I did stand a head taller than fucking half the population."

I have never been to Bosnia or Hong Kong. I shall have to go, some day.

*The cat stretches.* Did you know your world had werewolves in it? The world I came from does not. I only learned of them from speaking to people here.

"Hong Kong's got good food, but there's shops that'd see you as belonging on the menu- fair warning," Wells says. "And no, I didn't. My government heard about it, and said 'ooh, we ought to have one, send a squad out as bait why don't you'. That was me and my lads. Didn't find out what was after us until they'd already got busy, the bastards."

That is unfortunate.

*Frowning thoughtfully.* Hong Kong is near China?

"Off the south coast, yeah," Wells says. "Used to be an English colony, but we had to give it back. Not a bad vacation spot if you don't mind crowds."

Ah.

*Yrael begins cleaning his fur.* I was warned that I would be handed over to the cheapest, most unhygienic Chinese take-out place someone could find, for something that I did a month or so ago. I do not remember what it was, exactly.

Wells snorts. "Call me mad, but I get the feeling anyone who tried that'd read about a mysterious mass slaughter of all the workers at said Chinese takeaway in the next morning's paper."

*He licks his paw, showing juuuuust a little bit of ivory claw.*

Only if I left enough for the authorities to tell it was a mass slaughter. And, that would presuppose I went after the honest workers at all. I may just go after the one who said they would hand me over. It would save a lot of effort on my part.

"Fair enough," Wells says. "No sense wasting perfectly good vengeance on the undeserving."

He's had some time to consider the topic, after all.

It will keep there from being a bloody mass slaughter, and might keep the person from making such remarks.

I would have to do it outside the bar, though. I would rather not be in the cells.

"They're not much fun," Wells agrees. "Three days in them's more than enough for me, thanks."

*He smiles.* I have had the good fortune never to spend any time in them.

*Not that he hasn't done plenty of things worth being locked up for.*

"Lucky you. It was preventative, for me." He scratches his nose. "And I did ask for it. Some nights you just know you're gonna do something really fucking stupid if you don't take steps."

I make sure to take steps, usually. Making sure I am not caught, for one, or planning any action to take place where the rules do not reach. *He continues to clean his fur, making sure he is pure as the driven snow.*

Wells considers this.

"Sounds like you're a damn fine example of a cat, then," he says. Not accusatorily, mind. Just.... that's how cats are, to his way of thinking.

*Yrael smiles toothily up at him.*

Spend a few millenia shaped like one and you would be, too.
