Currently seated near the fire is Narcissa, enjoying a nice hot cup of tea. She spent some time outside this afternoon, taking a brisk walk along the lake shore.
Eventually, however, the chill became too much and she has returned back inside to warm up.
She seems in better spirits than usual.

"Hello, my darling."
no subject
"Lucius, dear. Is there an occasion I am forgetting?"
no subject
"I was simply walking out along the lake, when i saw this rose, admidst a rather distressing clump of weeds, and I could not help but think of you, and how your beauty always shown so much brighter then those around you."

Was the Dark Lord dead in their world as well then?
He approached their table with a calm expression, posture perfect as usual, "Good evening father and mother."
no subject
"I fear that in the presence of one so wonderful, my tongue can speak only the tru-"
And then his son pops up. Bummer.
"Ah, yes, Draco, evening, yes."
no subject
"Hello, darling. Will you join us?"
no subject
He nodded, and sat down. A brief wary, and curious eye to his father especially.
"Father, things are well? You were away for a while."
no subject
Something Draco has possibly never seen before, but his Father is being.. affectionate, to his mother. In fact, one hand is lightly playing with Narcissas hair, almost without being aware of it.
"It has not been overly long for me, a week, no more."
Did he just try to sneak a peak down his wifes shirt? Only he knows for sure.
no subject
"Nothing too taxing, I hope." She pours a cup of tea and passes it over to Draco. "And what have you been occupying yourself with, darling?"
no subject
"Oh, no troubles then?" He politely inquired.
He then said to his mum, "Just research and working with Tom and Master Salazar as usual."
no subject
Prepare for jawdropping.
"All work and no play, well, it's just not right for a growing boy."
no subject
"But not too much play, of course. You're an adult now and there's no need for unnecessary fooling around."
no subject
"What?"
Confundus Charm maybe? Or a potion? It had to be that. His father never acted this strange normally.
no subject
"Nonsense. You're only young once Draco, and, I insure you, adulthood comes far too soon. Enjoy this time that you have, before you are forced to assume such onerous responsibility of adultnessity."
no subject
"He is of age already, dear. It's time he accepted his responsibilities."
no subject
He hadn't sipped the tea yet, he seemed to be in shock.
Wizard brain goes 'bzuh-OMGWTFBBQ?!?"
no subject
"Does it matter, truly? The boy has had sucha hard expierience when he should have been enjoying life, he deserves some time to play."
Just like Lucius does.

His father was a bit mad, but no reason he couldn't take advantage. Right?
"And enjoying life includes seeing people I like, doesn't it?"
no subject
"But we were rather hard on him in those years..."
He glances back to his son.
"Ah, wanting to go on a date? Did you need some spending money then?"
Reaching into his robes. Anything that will get his son to bugger off so he can be romantic again.
no subject
"We helped him build his strength of character, dear." She reminds her husband gently.
Then she turns to Draco. "As we discussed, that is acceptable, providing the girl is of proper breeding, yes?"
no subject
"Yes, thank you. Going to a Halloween party with her."
He added, "She is of excellent breeding. You'll see."
no subject
Beatings.
"pressure. Now then, how much did you say Draco?"
Pause.
"What is this girls name, and when do we meet her?"
no subject
"The family name is Addams. We do not know them." A pointed look at Draco. "Yet."
no subject
"And you'll meet her soon enough. Meeting her family as well. Sure they're a proper one."
no subject
Lucius shrugs.
"Sounds a good enough name. Strong wizarding ties on thier world?"
And then he laughs.
"Nice son, but no. Here, take this, to tide you over."
And he tosses Draco his pouch. His, full, pouch.
no subject
"There seem to be some ties, but I do not think they could exactly be considered purblood."
no subject
"I said they were a proper family. Wouldn't even considered if they weren't. Even Tom thought she'd be a proper Slytherin. I'll prove it. Good night."
And without another word, he bowed, and left quickly.
no subject
He shudders for a moment, and then a smile crosses his face.
"Have you been outside tonight? It is quite wonderful. I thought we might go for a walk down by the lake."
no subject
She sighs and smiles back. "I was out earlier, but I think I could do with another turn along the shore."
no subject
"At some point we must let him make his own choices, and his own failures. We cannot protect him forever."
no subject
She takes his hand, standing, rose still in her other hand. "But that need not be decided right now."
no subject
And he leads her most gracefully out back, where two broomsticks are propped upon a rock.
"Oh, look at this. it seems someone left some broomsticks out. It would be a shame to elt them go to waste, yes?"
Romance, from the mind fo a sixteen year old.
no subject
"I have not been on a broom since I arrived here. I hope I'm not entirely out of practice."
no subject
Really lame.
"But, I am sure you shall be as beautiful as ever."
