Enter a politician
Peter wasn't the only Petrelli to be a bit distracted. Nathan left his brother with their mom while he started making phone calls on his way back to his campaign office. He was still talking on his cellphone as he walked through the door.
"Look, get me Tom on the phone, will ya? ...Hello? Hello?" He stared at his cellphone. Damn, he shouldn't have lost the signal. He then glanced up, only instead of the familiar hustle and bustle of a frantic campaign office going into the last stretch....It was a bar? What the hell?
Nathan took a few steps further in, not realizing the door closing smoothly behind him. Must have gotten turned around or something.
(ooc:much love folks, but gotta say slowtime for work and class. Will be back to tag slowtimes after 4:30pEST. Never mind on the work! Yay! Here till 3pmEST. BACK! Feel free to send more pups to meet my newest one.)

He started pacing, his hands on his hips which spread his suit jacket out some.
"Yeah, well, last I checked, doors don't just disappear. And it's definitely not my idea of a joke."
no subject
So Kirk gets calmer.
"Doors disappear here. The techonology that runs this place can do that, just as it grabbed you and me and everyone else here from a variety of times and places. I know that does sond impossible - especially if you're from a lower technology world or era - but it's true. And it's no joke."

Nathan shook his head, "Yeah, I need it to reappear now, advanced technology or not. And I hope the next word out of you doesn't include alien abductions." He stalked back over to the wall, and started feeling around for possible seams. Testing it for hollowness.
no subject
"Alien abductions?" That's a term that fell out of use a long time ago.
no subject
"Yeah, people that talk about little green or grey men kidnapping them? Usually just to get on TV." He continued testing the wall around where the door should be. Solid.
He muttered under his breath, "...What I wouldn't give for some c4 right now." There were some pretty tight spots like this in Bosnia too.

"You haven't said your name yet."
no subject
"Yeah, right..." He stood back up, and offered a hand. Still needed to keep up appearances.
"Nathan Petrelli, nice to meet you."

He finally dropped his hand away, and sighed, "Fine, might as well take in as much evidence as I can so I can report this later on."
no subject
"First thing is that this place is as much as bar as anything else. Anything you want to eat here, or drink, they have. The first drink's free, but after that you need to run up a tab."
no subject
Nathan only half-listened as he continued scanning the place. He hadn't caught sight of the window juuuust yet. He will soon enough.
"Great, so like prison, only with better food, huh?"
no subject
"Maybe you should get a drink."
no subject
He did eye the bar some. Tempting.
"Nah, I'll take that drink when I get out of here." Yeah, still not believing the whole being stuck here part.
no subject
"The next thing you should know is that they have a strict No Violence policy here. And ther are even gaurds here to enforce it."

"Besides, if you really want to beat something up, there's a punching bag out by the lake."
no subject
He then blinked, "This isn't just one room? How can there be a lake?"
no subject
no subject
Not impressed, but he was staring. It had to fake, or a special effect. Some fancy video?
He finally blinked, and looked back at Kirk, "Look, I don't care about some fancy movie effects. I need to leave."
no subject
"All of this is real. Not something out of a holovid. And the door isn't going to come back just because you want it to." This guy wouldn't last ten minutes on a starship.
no subject
Nathan scoffed at that, and he gestured emphatically with one of his hands, "Look I don't know what the hell a holovid is. I know what's real. I have a campaign to worry about, and a family to raise. I can't be here."
no subject
"What sort of campaign? Political, I assume?" Can't be military.
no subject
He finally said, "Yes, political. I'm running for Congress. Only have a few weeks left now."
no subject
no subject
"House of Representatives," he evenly replied. He's not in the mood for jokes just now.
