Helping a new arrival earlier had distracted Sara from the knowledge that, once again, timelines had played tricks on her.

She doesn't have a distraction now, and so she can be found sipping a cup of coffee pensively.

"........oh God. There were pictures."

"Collins put together a photo album. He's not planning to let either of you live it down, so I'll go easy."

"Thanks," she says dryly.

"Hey, I could've not warned you."
But Angel likes being in one piece.

"Relax. I won't do anything to you." Collins, on the other hand, is fair game.

"Don't torture him too much? I like him in one piece too."

[lvpd_sidle]

"I never said it would be physical," she says woundedly. This may not be particularly comforting.

Angel grins. "The point stands, I think."

[lvpd_sidle]

"Nothing permanent, I promise."

[the_antiangst]

"Good. How've you been?"

[lvpd_sidle]

"Good. Haven't been any pressing cases this week--new ones, anyway. I've been mostly doing paperwork and court."

"Which I would guess has its ups and downs, like most things."

[lvpd_sidle]

"I could live without crossing t's and dotting i's. Court.........can be interesting. Least the defense attorney didn't try implying I was a whore as a distraction technique."

"...I have this feeling that if anyone else tries that, Mark will want to go kick their ass."

"Oh, I wouldn't doubt that."

[the_antiangst]

"Even if he had to wait for you to finish."

[lvpd_sidle]

"If he did that, there'd be nothing left. The one time that particular strategy was tried, the attorney was referencing a time when I brushed plaster chalk from Grissom's face. He pulled chunks of wall and ceiling tile from my hair. Extremely hot stuff, let me tell you." Her voice is dry. "Needless to say, I enjoyed logically giving the bitch her ass on a platter."

"........People are so damn weird sometimes."

"I'll never argue with that."

"Least you got your revenge?"

[lvpd_sidle]

"She chose to join a firm outside of the Las Vegas area," Sara says placidly.

And Angel cracks up.

Sara just smirks.

Oh, thank god! Finally, someone he recognises.

"Have you seen my Grandpa around? I haven't seen him ANYWHERE, and I thought he was bound..."

Poor Bart, he missed the excitement.

"Bart? Oh my god, how have you been?" It's been so long since she last saw him--it brings a smile to her face.

Which fades at his next question. "Barry joined the Speed Force back in February, bar-time." Grief, muted but still present, can be seen on her face.

"Oh, I've been busy, there's all this stuff going on, and Superboy got beat up and..."

And there goes Bart's heart, broken swiftly.

"Oh. He did? Oh."

"He did," she says quietly. "He received warning, and made his goodbyes here." She smiles softly. "He said to tell you he was proud of you--and he knew you would do well."

Bart straightens under the praise.

"How...how long ago was that, Bar Time?"

[lvpd_sidle]

"About ten months." In that time, she had grieved deeply...and moved on, because that is what Barry would have wanted.

Bart tries to wrap his mind around this.

"Dang."

"I'm sorry you missed him," she says quietly.

"So, hows things?"
