Entrance Post

[Pre-Milliways and Pre-Torchwood: Her life is normal, and this is how it should always be.]

After her normal, normal day as a Police Constable for Cardiff, Gwen Cooper just wanted to go home. Maybe Rhys had some food done, if he was home yet (and if not, oh God, there was that delicious pie on the counter...and she could just have wee piece and he wouldn't notice, hopefully).

Of course, when one really wants to go home, that's when Bar pulls patrons in and makes them whirl about and lose all sense of...what the hell is going on.

The door opens and she walks through the door, with a look of "whut." on her face.

Huh. This...is not...her apartment.

[ooc: the mun may leave...but she'll let you know. s'just new years eve with the family, y'see.]

"Nice to meet you, Gwen. Don't think I ever met anyone from Wales. But yes, the end of the universe. Big bang time, I think. Take a look." He points at the conveniently located viewing window. "Wild out there. But safe in here. Magic." As if magic is perfectly normal.

Knox watches her stare. He just shrugged that view off back then, didn't he? "Yeah, it sounds...well, totally ridiculous. And it is. The whole place is like that. But if you're here long enough, it begins to seem...well, just as weird but a lot less hard to face. I've been coming here for months now, and I'd rather be here than my bar back home."

"Well, if you can still see the door you came through, you can still get home. And maybe you can bring your boyfriend. The food here is great. Bar can serve anything!" He pauses.

"But what kind of job do you have? You're a personal computer"

"That's good. I know some people who are stuck here, and it's not always fun." Though on occasion, some people thrive that way. "And you're a cop. That's interesting. Crime rate high in Cardiff?" For the first time, a touch of preofessional curiosity seeps into his voice.

"Well, that's important, too. BAck home some of the seedier bars can be very bad." He's trying not to sound condescending, but a little does seep in.

"But where's the fun in that," he says with a little cheek.

"Anyway, I should tell you more about this place. You feeling thirsty?"

Funny. He neer thought that he would find a female cop not wanting to be a female cop odd. He's been here too long, most likely.

"Then just ask for one. For anything" Knox has guided her to the Bar. "First one's free."

"Yeah, I reacted that way, too. First person I met here could turn invisible, too." He smiles.

"After this, you have to pay. Though you can run up a tab."

"Yep. I like to order food from all the best restaurants in Gotham and impress my friends." Or at least the female ones. "Though if you really want to eat your boyfriend's cooking, I think you can even do that."

[identity profile] gotham-knocking.livejournal.com 2006-12-31 05:48 pm (UTC)(link)
"Better tel you the rules next. First, no violence, so you can take a little time off." He smirks.

"Second, no public displays of nudity or sex. If you and your guy wanna, there are rooms here.

"And third..." He pauses. "This one I never quite got. No business. Not sure if that menas you can't bring the boss here and draw up contract, or if it means that you can't bring any grudges here. You'd have to ask Bar Security, I guess."

"Good. Cop or not, thet secuirty here will arrest you"

"Then you're set. My advice? Go explore." Knox figures a cop can handle this place.
