[Pre-Milliways and Pre-Torchwood: Her life is normal, and this is how it should always be.]
After her normal, normal day as a Police Constable for Cardiff, Gwen Cooper just wanted to go home. Maybe Rhys had some food done, if he was home yet (and if not, oh God, there was that delicious pie on the counter...and she could just have wee piece and he wouldn't notice, hopefully).
Of course, when one really wants to go home, that's when Bar pulls patrons in and makes them whirl about and lose all sense of...what the hell is going on.
The door opens and she walks through the door, with a look of "whut." on her face.
Huh. This...is not...her apartment.
[ooc: the mun may leave...but she'll let you know. s'just new years eve with the family, y'see.]

Of course, part of the reason is that nothing interesting happens in Cardiff in her time. Absolutely nothing that would call the attention of the Doctor or UNIT.
"I know this may be a little bit odd sounding, but could you possibly tell me what time you're from?"

"Uhm...2007." Gwen purses her lips slightly.

"I think a lot of people here are from about that time," she explains, trying to sound reassuring. "Or at least most of those from Earth that I've met."

She can understand how surmounting something like this can be. After all, Sarah will never forget her first trip in the TARIDS.
"You're at a place called Milliways. It's a pub, of sorts, at the end of the universe. People come here from all times and places. It's quite wonderful, really."

Life was far from normal for her now, and she loved every moment of it.
"Not if you look hard enough. That's what the Doctor taught me. You see, I'm currently from the late 1970s, but I walked in here from a 31st century space station."

No. She was just irked that the Doctor hadn't told her about this place himself.

"I love it. I wouldn't trade it for anything."
Or him, for that matter.

Oh, that sounds so exciting!
Sarah's now the one looking wide-eyed at Gwen, eager for more information. "We have our own share of odd events in my time, but oh, there's never been anything like that! What happened exactly?"

Knowing him, he probably was. It makes Sarah wonder if she was there too.

YET. AHAHAH.

It's advice Sarah's been following since she decided to go into journalism.

Most of the time, to be honest. A good 40% of these 'times' is just Sarah being snoopy and curious - the typical plucky reporter.
"Still," Sarah continues, giving Gwen a look that tells her she's not blaming her, "it does give me a challenge."
