You know how you have those nights where you can't sleep? You toss and you turn, you doze off and then the slightest thing jerks you awake again, and then in the morning you feel cloudy-headed and grumpy at everything?

Ajedrez had one of those nights. And thus she is grumpy at everything.

Not her breakfast, though. The breakfast is a good breakfast. Just, the rest of the world which isn't nice, hot food.

"Didn't sleep well last night?"

"No."

Well, that is a hell of a way to start a conversation. Ajedrez chokes, and then starts to cough. Getting herself back under control, she bites her bottom lip.

"Um.








Sorta?"

"I mean, recently since last time."

She's eyed suspiciously.

"Re-recently. Thought he'd quit that once the drugs wore off."

"Oh! Oh, shit. No, not since then. Um." She rubs her head. "No, just the once. Um. Sorry?"

"Excellent. That's fine then."

No hard feelings, see? If he can forgive Mary Anne he can certainly forgive her. Assuming she knows better now.

"I would prefer if you refrained in the future."

"I will." It's a promise, an oath, unbreakable and all of that because Random?

Scares her.

At breakfast, Suzi hadn't talked to Yuna yet.

Which is why when she waves at Ajedrez, her face is still multi-colored. Yes.

"...Yes." She says, fingers flying up to her cheek, "I hit him first?"

There is a pause.

"...can I ask why?"

"He called Whistler defective." She regrets not augmenting, really.

"Ah. Then I hope you hit him hard."

Ajedrez has a somewhat fluid grip on rules and violence, really.

Oh look. There's a silent little assassin eyeing her breakfast. Not because she wants that breakfast in particular, but her stomach is telling her it would like food, now, please. It's nto being particularly polite about it, either.

There may be a loud belly rumble.

From whom said rumble came. . . well, Miho ain't telling.

Ajedrez glances up, and smiles at her.

"Hola, Miho."

Miho smiles back at her, tightly, although there's no overt lack of friendliness. The astute observer - and one assumes someone with Ajedez' training and experience is that - would notice something different about her since the last time they met. She looks older. Her hair is definitely longer - quite a lot longer.

She raises a hand, and give a small acknowledging nod.

She's noticed, now that she's looking at her properly.

"Would you like to sit?"

There's a nod, and another little smile, and a Miho sitting.

Although now, of course, she'll have to get up again to get food.
