Re-Entrance Post

Sure, she defeated the evil Prince Gloom, restored sparkle to Ponyland, won the love and gratitude of many colorfully-assed ponies and if she stayed longer, they'd probably make her their chief.

But even if Lilly weren't missing her friends at the bar, there's a limited amount of time she can stay in a place where the hardest drink is apple juice and none of the men are anatomically correct. That time is up.

The front door opens and Lilly enters, grinning cheerfully and swinging a basket in each hand as she heads for the bar. Her hair is suspiciously sparkly and she's gotten tanner, but other than that, nothing's changed.

Well. Don't ask about her flanks.

"This is so true," Lilly says modestly. "Oh!"

She picks up one of her baskets.

"I forgot, I got you something. It's a brush, only when you brush your hair with it your hair gets sparkly!"

She pulls the brush out of her basket and proudly presents it to Tonks.

Yes, it has candy striping on it. So?

Tonks stares at it a moment before bursting out laughing. Then she sets to brushing her hair with it. "Well? Am I all set to make my daughter insanely jealous?"

Lilly clasps her hands to her heart and fakes a swoon.

"Oh, Tonks. Sunny'll turn green. And then she'll steal it, so! I call this a success."

[clumsy_auror]

"Well done, mate. Well done." 'Dora sighs and scratches her head, sending a dusting of glitter down onto her nose. "Hmm, let's see. Trying to think what's all happened since you've gone. Christmas, of course, but that's not terribly exciting beyond the groaning tables of food Bernard produced. Kids had a good time. Anthony's standing all on his own, but not quite walking yet."

"Man, he's growing up fast."

Lilly glances at Tonks, has a terrible horrible no-good very bad thought and naturally, decides to share it.

"He'll be old enough to go out with girls in no time. Which is awesome, cause I'm not very patient."

After a moment, Lilly gets a tiny bit worried.

"Uh, Tonks? Still with me? I was kidding, you know that right?"

Because really, it's Jake who Tonks should worry about.

She remembers to blink. She does.

"Oh yes. Totally kidding. Sorry, just had a brief moment of brain implosion."

She's also laughing.

Oh, good. Laughing people do not turn other people into newts.

"Yeah, that happens around me a surprising amount."

Lilly tilts her head thoughtfully.

"I can't figure out why."

"'S possible that glitter may impair judgement."

[awesome_lilly]

"Totally impossible."

Lilly looks straight at Tonks.

"I've spent a lot of time around glitter, and we all know my judgement is completely unimpaired."

The straight face is holding. Barely.

"Uh-huh." 'Dora nods sagely, and then claps Lilly on the shoulder. "Listen, I've gotta go check on the littles. But I'll see you soon, yeah?"

Lilly nods, smiling.

"Yeah, I'm not running right back out or anything. I'll have plenty of time to come by the flat and check out this monstrous growth Anthony's been doing. See you soon, Tonks!"

Grinning, Tonks plants a kiss on Lilly's cheek and heads for home.
