Lake Party Water Post Day Two

Sunshine Dust, the golden squid, frolics closer to shore today. There were so many people to play with in the lake yesterday! And squids need love and attention too!

There's a soft breeze coaxing the water into gentle waves, playing around the Black Pearl's sails.

If you didn't get a chance to swim yesterday, there is only today.

Tomorrow, it will be February again.

"Yeah." It's a pleasant enough voice, sounding like a man in his late twenties/early thirties. "Been a while since I've had the chance."

"Three... four months ago? My friends threw a small party after I finished getting my citizenship sorted out, but we've been a bit tied up at work since then."

That makes her blink slightly. "Okay... no offense but what are you? I mean a cat, yeah, but I've never seen one who can talk."

"None taken. My name's Jake, and I'm not from Earth."

Short pause.

"Well, not originally, anyway."

"Pleasure to meet you, Jake. I'm Abby."

She watches him a moment.

"Where were you originally from?"
