Lake Party Water Post Day Two

Sunshine Dust, the golden squid, frolics closer to shore today. There were so many people to play with in the lake yesterday! And squids need love and attention too!

There's a soft breeze coaxing the water into gentle waves, playing around the Black Pearl's sails.

If you didn't get a chance to swim yesterday, there is only today.

Tomorrow, it will be February again.

Steph looks at her sharply.

...how could she know? That must just be coincidence.

Yes! Coincidence! Nothing to see here, move along!

"Hey, weren't you wearing a Robin-green bikini yesterday? Do you have a whole collection of Robin-colored bathing suits?"

Steph looks startled.

"Yesterday's was Goldy's. I didn't even own one before today. I totally had to get this one from Bar this morning."

... because ... well, no need to explain why, right? Maybe she just wanted a change!

Barbara laughs, "Some friend, huh? Only letting you borrow her bikini for one day? What, did she get jealous and decide that green was her color?"

Steph giggles, and goes a little pink. "Well... there was kinda skinnydipping involved. And then Goldy thought it'd be funny to throw them away, only I couldn't find them..."

The laughing redoubles and Babs arches her eyebrows, "Do you think she'd want them back?"

"I have no idea," Steph says, and tries not to look too embarassed. "Um, maybe? She was the one who flung them, though."

Babs manages to catch her breath and say, "I was just wondering because I thought I saw something..." She trails of suggestively.

Steph's face falls, comically.

"Oh, you didn't..."

Barbara's eyes wiggle outrageously as she holds up a green bikini, one piece in each hand. "Lose something embarrassing, did you?"

Oh, right, you two already know each other. Flat mates if I remember correctly.

Barbara laughs now, unrestrained. "And I bet you walked back inside without it, didn't you?" She's gasping, it's hard to get the words out.

"Ran," Steph corrects from under her palm, face matching today's bikini. "Yep."

"And I missed it?" Barbara wails. "I can't believe it. I should have known something like that was going to happen, and I missed it!"

"I put all my stealth training into use," Steph informs her. "I was, like, sneakier than Cass. - Not Cass my kitten. The Cass I named it for."

Babs laughs, "No one's sneakier than Cass. Well, except maybe Batman." Then she blinks, "You have a kitten, and you named her after Cass?"

Steph doesn't look actually embarassed, just sort of - awkward - at being caught out in sentimentality.

"He's really tiny, and sleek, and he has sharp claws," she explains, lamely. "And I miss Cass, too."

The awkward look gets a soft smile in response, "She's doing well. Did she tell you about the time I took her on a cruise? I... sort of made her take a vacation."

And she laughs, "You named a male kitten 'Cassandra'?"

"I didn't know he was a boy," Steph protests. "You made her take a vacation? How did that end?"

"Oh, come one, Steph. I know you're old enough to tell boy bits from girl bits." She had a baby after all. That implies a significant degree of said knowledge.

"Yeah, I did... It," Babs rolls her eyes, "Of course turned into a disaster. Turns out Kon was there, and she recognized him. And then there was a terrorist attack." She sighs. Figures.

"Kon," Steph echoes, but bites herself off from saying anything else. She doesn't have to ruin Babs' day again. "And Cass was, like, four weeks old. He's tiny. Kittens' boy bits are all, like, sealed up inside, it's totally weird. We didn't figure it out till I went to stay at Sharpe's farm for a few days."

Barbara shakes her head, "You know, somehow I bet that kitten gets into a lot of mischief." He belongs to Steph, after all.

Steph looks super innocent.

"Why would you think that? He's far too tiny to get into trouble. He's, like, the size of my hand."

"I know you?" If Steph had a pet rock it would get into mischief.
