"Just leave me alone, I'm not doing anything to you."
"You're in the way Sandy."
"Let's put him out of the way."

The door swings shut - a gym locker door today - with an eight-year-old Guppy with his coat and jumper hooked neatly onto the peg so that his legs dangle. He looks surprised to say the least that he's ended up back in the bar he was in the other day, but right now is more concerned about what his mum will say about the stretched jumper. He squirms, trying to lift himself up on the peg so that he can unhook himself.

And then sighs, because being stuck on the inside of a locker door is just plain embarrassing.

Guppy squirms.

"You can just call me 'boy'."

"That's not as nice," Homestar insists. "That's like if you called me Dan Aykroyd; it'd be completely wrong, Gurpreet."

He brightens up.

"You managed it that time. And lots of other people call me boy. At least you tried to say my name."

"Call you boy? But that's silly. You told me your name. You told them too, right?"

Then he realizes something.

"Hooray! I did something right!"

He looks very excited.

"Daddy calls me boy when he's cross with me."

"But daddies are supposed to call you Gurpreet or junior or slugger or, to a lesser extent, sweetie."

He shakes his head.

"Daddy never calls me those. Except Gurpreet when I'm good."

Homestar looks cross.

"That's not very nice of your daddy."

"He says he named me so he can call me what he likes."

"But... Usually when they pick one name, that's it. You're called that name. Or other nice things."

He shrugs slightly.

"I get called lots of things. Boy isn't so bad."

Homestar pouts.

"But Gurpreet sounds nicer."

"Thanks Mr Runner."

Homestar smiles a little.

"No problem."

He tilts his head to The Bar.

"C'mon. Let's get some melonade."

"Okay. Thanks."

He follows.
