Gordon had been stepping into the restaurant where he's been working lately to pay the bills. This... is not it. It's a lot nicer than a crappy restaurant in mid-90's Alphabet City.

He manages to keep most of the surprise out of his expression, though - he's remarkably calm for someone whose place of occupation has been replaced by an unfamiliar bar. So rather than panicking, he just tilts his head ever so slightly to one side and surveys the room quietly. He supposes his boss didn't just decide to remodel without mentioning it to him, so...

[OOC: Gordon from RENT. RENT characters who know the Man would do well to note that Gordon looks rather like him - though most of them should know Gordon from Life Support anyway.]

"Nope," Parker shakes his head. "New York, is that where you're from?"

"I had that feeling," Gordon mutters, not sure whether he's disappointed or pleased that this is nowhere in the city. "Yeah. ...You?"

It's not so much curiosity as just... feeling out the place.

"Not New York," Parker says, easily. "Italy."

Gordon sits back in his chair, looking thoughtful.

"No. Definitely not New York. And I assume this isn't in Italy either, so... Where are we?"

The narrative apologizes for lack of polite conversation. Gordon never quite learned that particular talent.

"At the end of the universe," Parker says. "Imagine a bad scifi movie."

"Just my luck. I couldn't have even wandered into a good movie?"

[ooc of course!]

"Well." Parker thinks. "This one has fun action sequences."

"The idea of being in a movie doesn't much appeal to me. Especially sci-fi-action." Beat. "People tend to die, from what I've seen."

And Gordon would like to put off that dying thing as long as possible.
