Gordon had been stepping into the restaurant where he's been working lately to pay the bills. This... is not it. It's a lot nicer than a crappy restaurant in mid-90's Alphabet City.

He manages to keep most of the surprise out of his expression, though - he's remarkably calm for someone whose place of occupation has been replaced by an unfamiliar bar. So rather than panicking, he just tilts his head ever so slightly to one side and surveys the room quietly. He supposes his boss didn't just decide to remodel without mentioning it to him, so...

[OOC: Gordon from RENT. RENT characters who know the Man would do well to note that Gordon looks rather like him - though most of them should know Gordon from Life Support anyway.]

Miniver spots the door open and shut, and gives a shy wave to the stranger from a nearby booth -- if only for the sake of not seeming weird should the guy notice him watching.

Gordon notices the wave, and after a moment more of glancing about suspiciously, walks over to the booth.

"This bar wasn't here yesterday."

It's not quite a question, but close. There's a chance he's losing his mind, though he's not sure what opportunistic infection would cause a hallucination of a bar where there shouldn't be one.

"Oh, did it turn up in your broom closet or something?" Miniver should probably strike Gordon as exactly what he is: a hippy poet, with bellbottoms, ratty jacket, and a quill pen stuck in his hair. "Yeah, it showed up where my apartment used to be. Welcome and congratulations for escaping the shithole, assuming you're from Earth, which you sorta look like. Don't kill anyone or fuck anyone inside the bar proper. End of rules. Want a drink?"

Gordon's not unused to hippy poets. He lives in the East Village, after all.

"Actually, it used to be a restaurant... just not nearly as nice." There's a pause as he considers. "There was some doubt I'm from Earth?"

"Not everyone is, you'll find. And those who are, aren't always from the same time." He offers a hand. "Miniver Cheevy New York 1967."

Gordon shakes his hand, eying Miniver as he might someone he thinks completely insane. He's not unused to those either. Again, East Village.

"Gordon Daniels. Um. New York, 1997."

"Hey, I know people from there!" Miniver grins, ignoring the crazy-guy look (he's used to it). "Hey. D'you know someone named Paul? Or April?"

Parker watches the door like he always does, curious and strangely intense.

He takes a drink of beer while watching the new guy.

Gordon raises an eyebrow. "What?"

Tactful, he is not.

He's not panicking, which is good. A little unsettled and consequently pissy, but not panicking.

He gestures to the chair across.

Gordon considers, and then decides that might be a good idea. He slides into the chair, frowning at the man across from him.

"This bar. It's not in New York, is it?"

He hasn't seen out the window yet. Probably for the best.

Well, here's a familiar face, over by the fire.
...Depending on when in 1997 it is for Gordon, seeing Angel around might be something of a shock.

Gordon jumps. Oh, yes, this would be a startled Gordon. He'd been at Angel's funeral not that long ago. Seeing her sitting by the fire is... about as unnerving as you'd expect.

"...Holy shit."

Not to mention Angel's looking... notably better than the last time they would have seen each other.

Gordon walks over slowly, his expression utterly perplexed. He's not going to decide right here and now that he's gone crazy. But it seems like a reasonable conclusion at this point in time.

"...Angel?"

"Put it to you like this, I've yet to see a passable imitation. Did you just get here?"

That first part earns the barest hint of a smile from Gordon, which is as much as most manage to coax out of him - when he smiles, it's usually closer to a sardonic smirk. "Um... yes."

"Uhm....what date is it for you, then?"

Gordon's getting rather tired of that question. He sighs and rubs at his forehead. "December '97. Almost '98."

Mimi releases him. "Ah. Well. It's a little later than that for me...did you just get here?"
