Draco was able to get something from his homeworld, and Owled to him. A note from his mum. And a beautiful wizard chess set.

He was currently sitting at a table off the side, and ordered commands to the animated pieces moving about the board.

Slide, slide. Wrap. Ankle sex.

The Queen retreats for the moment. Get a better position.

Ankle sex indeed. The challenge is trying to do it without letting on with the rest of the body.

The Queen's retreat gives his Rook a chance to move in on the King.

That was certainly a challenge. Not letting it show either.

Just focusing on the game, nothing to see here.

That move meant sacrificing his bishop. But it could mean the loss of the rook. It would be worth it.

The poor Rook is left in its place -- a sacrifice as Miniver launches an attack from the other end of the board. A pawn is moved a single space to make way for a knight. The next move would check Draco's King if he took the bait of the Rook...

And yes, still getting creative under the table.

It was getting harder to focus with the fun under the table. He studied the board for a long time.

And then made a crucial mistake. Not the Rook bait. But he still left his king vulnerable, and defenses down.

"Check."

Draco would have to pull something really clever to avoid being mated soon...

Which kind though?

No, no. Well, there is one. The Queen would be lost. He then moved it forward to capture the checking piece. Watching the battle on the board with hooded eyes.

His low hum of thought comes out almost as a growl, and under the table tugs at Draco suddenly.

He'd need a new tactic. Another pawn moves forward, crowding the board and making moves more difficult to foresee.

A soft, surprised noise in response, sliding down in his seat unexpectedly. He tried to have one knight block the pawn in its tracks.

The pawn is duely blocked.

Which makes no difference at all, because it was only moved to provide a distraction. The Bishop comes from the opposite direction.

"Check."

Bugger. Well that... he could do...

No. That won't work.

Neither will that.

Time for something desperate. Castling.

And the Bishop zig-zags, trapping a knight and leaving an opening for a pawn to advance to Draco's end of the board in two moves.

Feet move, legs tangle... it's cheating, but he doesn't think Draco minds much.

Completely cheating but no, not minding. He's just annoyed he didn't think of it first. His skin was flushed with pink as he struggled to find another move. He only had one pawn left to do any moves. So he sent it forward. He bit his bottom lip for a moment.

"Check." And Miniver would LOVE to see Draco keep his thoughts straight with what he's doing under the table now...

Draco was trying very hard, and the only reason he could at all was from his mental training.

But a whimper escaped him anyway, and his eyes fluttered some.

Sacrficed another Rook for the check.

"I'm going to win," Miniver observes. "You could just give up now..."

"No," he petulantly replied, his breathing clearly faster now.

Another sacrificed piece.

"I am." Smug as he presses another piece towards the King.

"Bastard," he breathed even as he dimly watched his king throw down his crown in defeat.

"And what are you gonna do about it?" Miniver challenges smugly.

Draco started to say something but then under the table distractions caused a stifled moan to emerge instead. Bugger, well, he'll do something. Later. Right.

"Is that a promise?" Scooting nearer.

"Yes, you evil cheating bastard," Draco hissed in between pants, and slid further down in his seat. "I'm supposed to be the only one of those here."

"I did not cheat. Did you see me cheat? No cheating whatsoever." He scoooots a little lower, too. "Not my fault you can't keep your head on long enough for a game." Evil grin.

Brief gasp, and he hastily saw about a charm to turn the volume down on another groan from him.

"I...could...if...you weren't...so sodding distracting."
