Atton's at a booth, mechanical parts (all of the mostly circular variety) and curved bits of sharp metal floating in the air above him, being carefully put together.

Which evidently means his powers are either back or on their way back. This pleases Atton lots, which is why he seems in a particularly chirpy mood.

"Nope. Not at all."

By now she's finished her food and is enjoying her beer. "Change brings some real good stuff."

"Some real bad stuff, too. More often than not, actually. But 's better than everything just staying the same all the time."

"Well, yeah. But life's 'bout makin' de bad good, from what I c'n tell."

"Pretty optimistic view, there."

"It's dat or go batshit crazy, kill a bunch o' people, 'n' get shot down like a mad dog."

She shrugged, grinning a bit. "Figger optimism's de lesser o' de two evils."

"True, I suppose. I'm used t'being around pessimists."

Grin.

"When I was a kid, everyone around me was obsessed with the idea that the apocalypse was coming. They insisted I was a bad omen."

Beat.

"Of course, the apocalypse did come, so they may have had something there."

Belle couldn't help but giggle. "Sorry, jes'. . .de way y' said it."

"Don't apologise, it was meant t'be funny." Atton grins.

She beamed. "Good. Y' mo' fun den I figgered Jedi'd be."

"Most of them are really humourless. I'm not that highly regarded in the Order, anyway, everyone thinks I'm a maverick. And a loose cannon," Grin. "They're a right boring lot, all of them. They could drone for centuries on end."

Pause.

"I think a few of them have."

She snerked. "Guild Elders're like dat. Fuckers so stagnant y' 'spect 'em t' sprout moss."

"At least one person on the Jedi Council has moss on them," Beat. "Not me. The Grand Master of the Order is pretty young, though."

"Oh? Dat's a surprise."

"Yeah. Twenty-five, younger than me. Acts like an old man, though."

"Happens." She notes.

"Yeah. I try t'lighten him up - Lock him in his office, throw paint on him before he has important meetings, but he never seems t'get my jokes."

Belle snickered. "Beginnin' t' 'in' y' lucky t' be alive."

"Not lucky. Just skilled."

"Ah, o' course."

She nods and snickers. "Is everyone here crazy, or jes' everyone I talk t'?"

"Y'don't believe me?"

"Non, 's not dat. I b'lieve y' jes' fine. Y' jes'. . .doan seem t' be a classic picture o' sanity."

Smirk: "Probably fair. I've always been a little bit on the crazy side."

"Y' in good company."

"I thought so." Grin.

She grinned back, drinking her beer.
