Suzi Darley has a pad of paper, several pens, and a booth where she can keep an eye on the bar in general. Her knitting and her usual signs offering jewelry for sale are nowhere in sight.

She's here for one reason: initial interviews with the people who requested them. Her notes will be passed along above her head, and those people will sit down and figure out who they want to talk to more from there.

She's got the list of questions that Alanna used in the last hire written down to use (and blank space under them in case anyone on Security has other questions that they want her to start adding), and plans to file each days interviews as soon as they're all finished so that they're to hand for the people doing the actual hires.

"Better. People are still impossible to understand, so, I gave up and just watch them do strange things." A shrug. "How are you?" After all, Suzi is one of the three people whose mood and well-being Ravin cares about.

"Fair enough." Suzi says in response to the first bit, "I'm fine, I've been spending most of my time at home with Whistler and that's nice."

"Good you and him work." Work out, work together, and such and such. "I went on a date." And satan is ordering woolens and antifreeze.

"We work very, very well together." Suzi agrees, smiling, "Did you have fun?"

"It was different. He seemed scared like he was thinking I would eat his heart or something equally bad, half of the time. We watched a movie, avoided some of his enemies, and I met his aunt. Have not seen him since." And Ravin seems just a bit disappointed about that, she did not imagine herself being easy to forget, nor she tried to be scary and push him away.

"Oh." Suzi says. Avoiding enemies is, er, rather outside her understanding, to be honest. "Um. Are you sure he wasn't just afraid that he'd do something silly in front of you? Baselines are very silly."

"I don't know." Ravin's grasp of human emotions is far from good. "And he is not a baseline, but weird as they are." Lich-girl ponders a moment. "He is very worried people will learn about his special abilities. He wears a mask to help people, but people accuse him of causing bad things to happen, like if he were some sort of cursed evil-magnet that attracts trouble."

Okay, the spidey IS a trouble-magnet, but that is another story.

"Oh." says Suzi, again. She's really not going to try to analyze someone she's never met, it would be foolish, "I'm sorry. Leave a note for him?"

"Adn say what on it?" Ravin imagined that solution too. "Where in hellfire and damnation are you?" The pale girl shakes head.

"I am not a people person." Understatement of the year. "Maybe his door simply vanished."

"Well, yes. That could work. Or I had a good time, and I haven't heard from you. Is everything alright?" Then Suzi shrugs, "Practice is what makes people into people people."

"I don't want to make him think I am... running after him?" Really, Ravin needs to see more of normal relationships, her view of them is quite distorted right now. "Being a people person seems to be hard work, and little use. Oh."

Ravin learned a new trick, sleight of hand, and she offers Suzi a... well, a brass egg?

"Being a people person works for me." Suzi points out, "People like me, and I like them, and it's good." She reaches for the egg, blinking, "Thank you?"

"I have three people I like." Implied Suzi is one of them.

Up close, Suzi can see the onject has a seam around its midsection, and can most likely be opened. It is a nice work, finely engraved surface.

"It's a start." Suzi says with a nod, and her tentacles wrap around to try to open the egg.

"It is enough for me. For now." Really, she needs to see more of the good side of relationships.

The egg opens easily enough, revealing a clear cristal inside, another egg made of almost-perfectly-transparent material. It catches light, and sparkles softly with the colors of the rainbow.

"Say Thgi Lekam." At the words, the crystal lights up, glowing with gentle sunlight.

"Oh!" Suzi says instead, then mimics Ravin's words as close as possibly.

"To turn it off, it is "Thgi Ldne" Ravin watches, letting Suzi practice a moment, until she gets the right tone and cadence. "I got the idea from something Telemain asked me about."

Oh yes, she is exchanging knowledge with other magic-users.

"Oh, it is lovely." And it will work in Whistler's world, although not in Suzi's and Quinn's. "What were you two talking about?"

"He met someone who needs sunlight to live, and was trying to make something to store sunlight for later use. We talked about contained and sustainable light, I showed him how I can evoke sunlight, and gave each other ideas. So, I built that" Ravin indicates the egg. "Cast sunlight into it, and there."

"The hard part was finding a crystal clear enough."

"It's beautiful." Suzi says, offering it back, "Really, really beautiful."

Ravin shakes head. "It's yours." And she adds next, as an afterthought about not imposing. "If you want it." Because the Sime might just not want it, and Ravin will not get offended if that is the case.

"Thank you." Suzi says, "I'll put it on my worktable at home...I often need extra light over there."

The lich-girl nods. "Good. I am trying to make more... useful stuff, not so destructive, and more than just breaking things. It's good magic exercise." As much as it sounds strange, it does help her develop her abilities.

"That's really nice." Suzi says with a nod, "I've got no magical ability at all."

"Hmm, no, but you have other things, things I will never have no matter how much I learn in magic. That thing you do, zlin people, feel them, and know things." Ravin zlins a bit jealous right now. If she could actually -feel- people like Suzi does, her not-undead part could maybe, maybe develop.
