Suzi Darley has a pad of paper, several pens, and a booth where she can keep an eye on the bar in general. Her knitting and her usual signs offering jewelry for sale are nowhere in sight.

She's here for one reason: initial interviews with the people who requested them. Her notes will be passed along above her head, and those people will sit down and figure out who they want to talk to more from there.

She's got the list of questions that Alanna used in the last hire written down to use (and blank space under them in case anyone on Security has other questions that they want her to start adding), and plans to file each days interviews as soon as they're all finished so that they're to hand for the people doing the actual hires.

Well, yeah, when you can read the thoughts and emotions of a very private man, and said man knows it, it's rather a no-brainer that he'd become self-conscious, if not outright hostile. "A Senior Operational Official of the MI6. In layman's terms: I'm a secret agent."

Beat.

"Need more detail?"

Only current emotional state. She can't read thoughts, and is quite grateful for that. "Um." she says, "Yes. Can you give me a general idea of what you do?"

"I'm sort of an international undercover detective. I investigate or sabotage threats to British interests. It's a dangerous job that requires a lot of physical and mental strength and skills--and a hell of a lot of secrecy."

Suzi writes down what he says, as he says it (complete with profanity!), "Okay. The next one is, What weapons can you wield successfully? Please list them by what kind they are, too?"

"Can't get away with saying 'guns and knives', can I?"

"Um." says Suzi, "You probably can? If there's anything you're more proud of than others, I can put that down too?" She writes, however, guns and knives.

"I use guns more often than I do knives, but it has nothing to do with pride. Preference, maybe, but I don't think I'd still be alive if I had fought with a knife instead of a gun."

He does love his precious Walther P99, though. He's also very good at wielding his own body as a weapon!

She knows nothing about use of the body as a weapon. (Unless you happen to be Richard Ryan, in which case she gets distracted by the cuteness of werewolf ears.) "Okay. Um. Are you a magic user? If so, what type of magic?"

Bond shakes his head. "I'm useless there."

"Mmmkay." Suzi says, "What are the bar rules?"

"No sex, no violence, no business. I violated two of those, and with good reason, if you ask me."

Le Chiffre makes him >:(

"Which two?" Suzi asks, pen hovering over the paper. She is more likely to violate the sex rule than the others, so asking is worth it. "And then Why do you want to join security?"

"Violence and business. An...old friend of mine, you could say, found his way here and decided to hurt my fiancee. I spent a few days in the cells for it." He didn't mind. He knew what he did was against the rules and was happy to do his time. He's just not happy that Le Chiffre can walk away after doing what he did to Sarah.

"As for why I want to join security: I'm here often enough, and if Security needs someone who's qualified to protect the people of the bar, I'd be happy to offer my talents."

Suzi should pick up that Bond has absolutely no doubts as to his qualifications. He may not use magic, but he can definitely kick some ass and keep the peace.

Suzi nods and takes down a summary of the old friend incident with a note to check old Security files, and then copies down his statement on why he wants to work for Security. Then she checks her list again, "How would you handle the following scenario: A new patron draws a gun and threatens an enemy from home -- an enemy that has been a bar patron for some time and hasn't caused trouble. The new patron also has magic, and lets everyone know it."

Hmm. Bond's a little taken aback from that question due to the magic element. He doesn't have experience with that. Doesn't mean he wouldn't do anything about it.

"I'd try to restrain him. Or her. As best as I can." Bond leans in conspiratorially. "We secret agents have ways of sneaking up on people, you know."

He speaks a bit louder: "After that, if the patron tries anything magical on me--then I guess I'm screwed, if I haven't found another security member who can use magic while I'm also stopping the new patron. If I'm not unconscious or a toad when it's all over, I'd pull the new patron aside, maybe toss them in the cells depending on how bad the attack was--because pulling a gun isn't the same thing as firing it or hitting someone with it--and I'd investigate. I'd find out what the story is between the new patron and his or her enemy. Then I'd listen to the story from the enemy. Then I'd tell them both to stay away from each other and hope for the best." There's a wry grin on his face. By hope for the best, he means keep a keen eye on them to make sure they don't start any more trouble.

"Okay!" Suzi says, "That's all the questions that I have, is there anything else that you think my bosses should know about you, and why you should be on Security?"

He shakes his head. "Though I am curious about why they don't ask about experience. I didn't get my current job on my charm and good looks alone."

Cue charmingly silly smile.

"I just read the questions!" Suzi says cheerfully, "But if you want to talk about experience I'll write that down too!" Bond is cute, Suzi will admit that, but her sexuality is pretty Whistler-centric these days. Eyes that track correctly are sort of weird.

"All right. I was in the Royal Navy for fourteen years, joined the Special Boat Service--the Royal Navy's special forces unit, made of strong, self-sufficient and highly skilled men and women who're blessed with all the difficult and covert operations the military can dump on them.

"At 31 I joined the MI6, or the British Secret Service, an organization that scoops up everyone who has potential in a special forces unit and gives them even more difficult and covert operations overseas. I had the good fortune of working out of Jamaica and Rome--the same way I now work out of London, meaning I was everywhere but Kingston and Rome doing all sorts of operations, though I did do a lot of translations in Kingston." He smirks. "I don't think being multilingual qualifies me for Security."

"I have no idea." Suzi says, "I speak both languages from home, but I'm the only person here who can understand most of Simelan." She does, however, write down what he's said, "Do you want to tell me which languages?"

"Do you have room on that notepad of yours?" Bond is definitely bragging right now. He can't help it. He's got an ego bigger than his own country.

"Uh huh." She's got about nine of them, actually. You never know.

He chuckles. "I was exaggerating a bit. I'm fluent in French, German, and Italian. I can get along in a few other languages as well."

"Okay!" That's a lot less than she was expecting, really. They're written down, and she waits for him to offer more information.

"And I guess that's it, unless you also want to know my food preferences."

Everyone knows his food preferences, so it won't be news.
