Will's been spending most of his days either swimming in the inlet or doing sword and archery practice, so hasn't been sitting in the Bar that often.

That's why he's making up for it now by sitting in a booth with a tankard of ale, and some wedges.

Lots of new faces and he's also keeping an eye out for Marian or Sir Guy, he'd feel better if he knew what happened between them.

Someone hangs on the side of the booth.

"Well, hello, Will. Had a good day?"

"Aye, sir, been swimmin' in the inlet out there an keepin' meself fit."

He looks up with a smile and a nod, still thoughtful, the past few days have been thought provoking.

"That's an idea," he says thoughtfully. "I haven't been out there to swim. I was out there working earlier. Warm water?"

"Aye, sir, tis lovely an warm. Tis the river Leen in Nottingham, but ne'er gets that warm an tis a tide too."

"Usually I go to the beach," he admits. He loved the beach. It's part of the reason why he's so good with water; he used to play with it when he was younger.

"At home, anyway."

"Tis only the river in Nottingham, sir, ne'er been to the coast."

Which is why the inlet is just so cool, Will has no experience of water like that.

"Maybe one day I'll show you the beaches in California," he says with a grin.

"Thank ye, sir, an tis e'er anythin' I could do to 'elp ye let me know. Been showin' Molly 'ow to use me longbow but think she might need a smaller one since Master Dresden mentioned vampires in yer world. Ne'er fought anythin' like that but 'ave some skill with a blade an bow."

"They're faster and stronger than anyone you've ever met," he says quietly. "I mean," and he brightens, "for me, no sweat, but they're certainly no fun to play with. Bow and arrow won't really work. Too slow."

"Aye, sir, makes sense, just tryin' to be useful when I can. Ne'er really met any creatures o'magic till came 'ere an seems tis all sorts 'ere."

There's magic in Sherwood, but Will doesn't even put that in the same category, after all its just Sherwood.

"And I'm sure if it comes to it, we'll appreciate it," he admits. "But since you'd be coming into Molly's door, I'm thinking, you should talk to Harry about that. His territory."

"Aye, sir, mentioned 'bout the archery to 'im was all since was wonderin' 'ow useful twould be an where ye'd 'ave to aim for. We've ne'er really spoken o'it too much since long as I've known 'er, Molly's been Bound, 'ope 'er door comes back soon since know 'ow 'ard can be. Twas nice to take 'er to Nottingham, give 'er someplace new to see."

The blush and thoughtful look are back since Molly in Nottingham was just amazing and well her magic was very useful.

It's a little hard to follow his dialect, but he shakes it off after a moment.

"She's bound?"

Wouldn't she be able to go back with Harry?

"Good evening." Sometime along the day, Ryu discovered the rafters. When you are ninble enough, you can place yourself right over the booths.

Will's first reaction to a voice from the rafters is defensive then he remembers where he is and smiles to man above, "Fair eve, sir."

"I did not wish to intrude, I am sorry. But you do seem worried about some matter of importance." Sometimes, the work of a shinobi can be accomplished in a less covert manner, and sometimes, a ninja is just curious.

"Just been thinkin' 'bout wars an the cost o'fightin' in 'em, tis all, sir. Ye're welcome to join me."

"As long as the cost is less than the cost of not fighting them, wars have to be fought." The asian man slips down and into the booth, offering a half-bow. "I am Ryu."

"Will Scarlett, sir." The bow is returned before Will speaks again,

"Aye, sir, fight for me 'ome an family an willna stop e'en though tis a 'igh price, needs to be done. Somedays worry tisna 'nough is all."

"And you have to fight, even so if it is only to spare others of the burden of bloody hands." Ryu smiles a bit, nodding. "What is good in life demands effort, and sacrifice as well."

"Aye, sir, tis the way I can 'elp an do me best with it. Wish didna 'ave to be, but tis the way o'the world."

"My knowledge of the western history is far from perfect, but if I can hazard a guess, I would place you in england, in perhaps the middle ages; the 13th century, per chance?" Change of subject, since they are in accord around the first topic, so it does not pay to meander.

"Aye, sir, Nottingham, England, year o'our lord 1138 in the rule o'Richard the Lion'earted though 'e is off to the Crusades an 'is brother is 'urtin' England."
