He wanders downstairs, contented smile on his face, new cat perched quite happily on his shoulder, steps easy and light. It's early, but he has a feeling that he's going to be put away tonight so he figures he'll have a little fun.

He watches the glass - remembering - he's content to witness the show, so long as he doesn't, again, become a part of it.

"Why, then, did LaCroix turn you? Or Nick-one... or whatever?"

"Thank you," he says as the glass returns.

"Meaning you may do or say something remarkably stupid or damaging without realizing it and people easily get angry with you?"

He shrugs. "Don't know what to tell you. I didn't even know about vampires, really, until I came here. So, rules?" He snorts a laugh. "I have enough trouble keeping up with my own rules."

"Well, then, people should take responsibility for their own actions."

He takes a quick look around the bar.

"Where's Natalie?" Nick hasn't mentioned her in a while...

"I wasn't implying she was anything else. I just noticed you hadn't mentioned her in a while and thought I should ask. A bit defensive, aren't we?"

"That would fall under the 'strange' category, I think. How, exactly, does Natalie 'put you away'? And no, I wouldn't try to do it. Not sure I could even if I knew how." He shrugs. "I'm a curious sort. When I want to be."

"Yeah, we'll just go with 'confused' and move on."

He sips from his glass. He's paying attention, taking it all in - something may come in handy at some time, but he doesn't want to appear to be 'studying' or 'researching'. Just conversing.

"Who kept you from becoming an ex-Nick-one and Nick-two?"

"Your trip into the sunlight - who stopped you?"

"Yes, I've spoken with Van Helsing." Remembering a recent missive from the man, he tries to hide a smile. "And I believe you're right. Though having a 'would kill for him' category at all might not please him all that much."

He sips his drink.

"You don't believe Van Helsing's moral reasoning is just?"

Yes - b/c a guy who runs around chopping other people's heads off should be talking about morality all over the place.

Connor is beginning to think that Nick-two might almost get along better with Kronos.

"How is it, then, that you care enough about Van Helsing that you would, if he didn't stop you, kill for him?"

He smirks at the comment about him being 'mischievious' - because he is.

"I'm as good a friend as I care to be."

And he leaves that statement at that - what? see above...

"I try not to make enemies if I can help it. However, they seem to find me on their own."

"Uh huh." Connor nods and finishes off his drink.

"Enemies are frequently easier to locate than friends."

He shakes his head.

"Not so. If your enemies seek you out, no matter your mindedness or temper, they may be frequently more often found than your friends. 'Tis a fact of life."

He nods at the waitrat who has brought him another drink, takes a sip and continues:

"Don't get me wrong, I value my friends more than my own life, but I come across enemies more often than friends."
