She's okay for the most part. Not too hot... not looking like crap like before. If Sam hadn't of been there. But he was. Going over to the bar counter she orders a cup of hot chocolate then goes over to a chair and curls up in it. She figures drinking hot chocolate and curling up with a good book will keep her mind off her nightmares. Off the way she feels when she has them. So far it seems to be working.

Whether it stays that way or not... is a whole other story.

Clark is quiet for a moment himself. He's never really thought about what he'd do if Alicia showed up here until Sam told him about Jessica and now, talking to Jessica herself, he's still not sure.

He sighs softly. "It's not your fault you came here, though. Or that he's here, too. Even though it's hard now, maybe... maybe it'll end up helping in the end."

"How can it help? I ended up here and because of this place I don't have any intentions of crossing over. And Sam... he's always helping when he should be getting on with his life. I don't want to hold him back. No matter what Dean thinks."

Ah. Dean isn't helping. For some reason, Clark isn't surprised.

"It's not so easy to just give up on someone you care about, especially if you get to see them again when you're not expecting to." He shakes his head slowly. "I don't know. Maybe if he can help you here, it'll help him be able to move on out there. I'm not so good with advice, though," he finishes with a small smile.

"He's not the only one that needs to move on though." She states quietly. She did too but she didn't think she could do it.

"Yeah," he agrees, softly. "Can't just turn those feeling off, much as it'd be nice if we could."

"No, unfortunately you can't turn them off. I wish I could sometimes because then maybe it'd be easier." She gives him a sad smile. "As long as he moves on out there I'll be fine. I think."

He nods. "Have you been able to make many friends here? I would think if you had some people of your own, I mean that he doesn't know, that might help."

"A few but I tend to stick to myself a lot." She says curling up in the chair more.

"Yeah, I do that, too. Socializing can't hurt, though, can it?" Clark asks with another small smile.

"Never know what you can do until you try it." She states with a grin.

"Exactly," he agrees, smile widening some. "And, well, now you've got one more person to talk to."

"Are you as hard to find as everyone else?" She asks giving him a smile. "Or will it be easy as pie." She may or may not be teasing.

"I'm around often enough," he replies. "I'd say easy as pie but honestly, pie's not that easy. Believe me, I've tried."

"Chocolate chip cookies are easier. I used to make them a lot." And she'd normally have a plate of them out for Sam for when he got home.

"My mom tried to get me to help with those when I was younger, but I ended up eating most of the chocolate chips and I think she figured it wasn't worth the trouble anymore," he grins. "Pie, though, I almost got the hang of. Nowhere near as good as my mom's, of course,"

"I used to eat the chocolate chips all the time when I was little." She shakes her head a bit. "I even ate some of them when I was making the cookies for Sam. How can someone resist chocolate chips? As far as pie is concerned, I've never tried making a pie before."

"It's trickier than it looks, especially when you get into all those fancy cream pies. I stick to apple if I have to make one at all for myself."

Then a thought strikes him. "Are you from Kansas, too?"

"I'll have to try it some time." Maybe. "No. I'm from California."

That appears to throw Clark a little, but it's just a brief reaction.

"I see. I thought since he was, you might be, too," he shrugs. "I am; it's kind of nice to meet other people from the same place."

"No. When I met Sam it was at Stanford University. Definitely a guy any girl would want to run into. And considering what he was majoring in, that probably helped too."

"Ah, yeah, university can be good for that. Meeting people." Not that Clark would really know. "What was he studying?"

"Mmhmm. It can be." She went... up till the day she died. "Pre-law. He would've made an excellent lawyer."

"That's pretty ambitious, but I think I could see it." He tilts his head. "What about you? What were you taking?"

"Journalism." Not that mun knows since the silly creators never gave what she was majoring in.

"Really?" Clark brightens at that. "You should talk to my friend Chloe. She's taking journalism at Met U and she works at the Daily Planet. I bet she'd love to have someone else to talk stories with, since I think she's about given up on trying to get me back into it."
