Ramon's had a lot on his mind lately, not that he'll probably admit it. It does explain the rather distant look on his face though, as he toys with a tequila in his booth.
Distractions may or may not be welcome, depending on what he thinks of you. But that shouldn't be a deterrent to anyone wanting to talk to him.

'Who turned you into Freud? He can be with me all he wants but in the end, Amber's his home now and its her he's going home to.'
He's the vacation lover now. Or that's what he feels like.

"It's like...on its own weird level of commitment for him, with way more baggage tied up in it than I ever want to know about. But I was under the impression that home was Haven."
no subject
'But not now. He says he'll get away from Amber 'when he can' - what does that tell you?'
no subject
"And that as much as he'd like to be at home--his real home, where you are--he can't stay away from Amber if him not being there means the whole place might fall down around their ears."
She rolls the bottle between her palms, takes a sip.
"From what he told me, they're doing good to be hanging on by their fingernails right now. I'm sure once it stops being two minutes past the Apocalypse over there, he'll be able to get away more, but right now all the shit's still freshly hit the fan and that means he needs to be there."
She passes the bottle back across the table.
"Doesn't make it right, though. For either of you."

But he doesn't. He just has a drink and shrugs sullenly.
'Not like I have any choice but to put up with it.'
no subject
She smirks a little. "Hell, I take you to go crash the party, if I could get in the damn door."
no subject
Random would kill him if he crashed in anywy. His whole reasoning for not letting him into Amber very often is because he wants him safe, he says.
'Thought you could go anywhere.'
no subject
"I remember Random saying something once about only Amberites being able to find Amber, and he's right; I got bored once and tried. I could get to the Shadow right next door, but no further. It was sort of like putting your forehead against a wall and then trying to still walk forward. In the end, you just have a headache and feel pretty stupid."
She hasn't tried for Arden yet. She isn't sure she would want to succeed.

He shrugs. He'd never beg her to take him anyway.
'That restriction has to piss your husband off.'
Though really, if Ruin were to visit Amber who would even notice the difference? Its not like the place doesn't have enough ambient crazy already.
no subject
"He's got the whole rest of the multiverse to fuck around in; not being able to get into Amber hasn't seemed to bother him too much."
If he could get in, she'd just have to haul him out by his hair. This way, at least, there's one less base for her to cover.
no subject
'He just seems like the type of guy who would resent any place he couldn't go.'
He shrugs it off. Talking about Ruin always sets his teeth on edge but it's better than exploring the inner workings of his psyche as it relates to Random.

And because picking his brain his only going to piss them both off, and she's not sure how she feels about discussing her husband, she borrows the bottle for another sip then asks,
"How's business?"
no subject
'Good. Almost too good. Texorami isn't as sophisticated as Earth so it was pretty easy to take over, especially after you topped the police chief. No one's stepped out of line since then.'
He misses the fight. It would be fun if some other group rose to attempt a challenge to him but it doesn't look like happening any time soon. It's almost getting boring.
no subject
"Huh. Want me to start a drug war for Christmas?"
She's only half kidding. After all, what do you get the man who has damn near everything?
no subject
'Would you mind? It'll entertain me for a couple of months at least.'
He's only half kidding. Going unchallenged is not something he's used to and the inactivity is getting on his nerves. So much so that he's contemplating something a little more drastic...it'd crossed his mind to sound her out on it actually but he's still a little pissed. So he just swirls his tequila contemplatively and mulls over whether or not to bring it up.
no subject
"I'll see what I can do."
Kidding, still. Mostly.
no subject
'I gotta go, Random thought he could get back tonight. I'll see you again.'
no subject
"You bet. Tell Random 'hi' for me."
