Even for someone in shape, being outside in the elements can impact the immune system. Especially when said system is an enclosed environment with a high and varied population for long intervals of exposure to a variety of airborne diseases that is especially prevalent this time of year. What does this all translate to?

"Aaa-achoo!" Namely Kate's in the bar with a cold, with a box of tissues, hot tea, and medicine by her.

"Greetings," Teja says, passing her. He's wrapped in his cloak, and wearing the warm socks the little womble has given him. He's carrying a large goblet of mulled mead, and planning to settle down by the fireplace with it.

Tissues, of course, weren't invented in his time.

Kate waved, "Afternoon," Voice sounded a little muffled and nasally from stuffed up sinuses. She wiped her nose, and put it in a little trashcan that she had by her to try to keep the cold contained.

"Might it be you caught a cold in the snow?" Teja enquires, with an expression that is almost a small smile.

It would be only fair - in a world that generally isn't.

"More like it's that time of year, and my immune system probably was hurt by the cold weather, sure. You too?"

"Just a little cold, nothing, in truth," Teja says.

His speech is decidedly muffled, compared to his normal tone of voice, though.

"I take that as a yes," She dryly replied.

"It will happen if one runs out into the snow in the clothes made for working in a hot forge," Teja half-admits. "I have hot mulled mead to get warm again."

She forgot the chicken soup. But never fear, the Devil brought her some. "Playing in the snow?"

"That, and it's that time of year. Been hearing a lot more coughing and sneezing around here. Same thing happens at school around now."

Kate nodded at the soup offer, "Thank you."

"No need to thank me, dear. My pleasure." She offers a hand, smiling. "I am the Devil." Woo hoo! She decided to use no subterfuge today!

Kate hesitated on taking her hand at that.

"...What?"

"The devil. Lord of lies, Satan, Angel of the Abyss, the Deceiver, and all that?" Come on everybody knows what the Devil is.

Kate was tense and wary at her, even with her cold.

"...What do you want?"

[guppy_sandhu]

Guppy, who is skulking (having a big purple nose is embarrassing) trips over Kate's table and drops his paperwork all over the floor.

He makes a mental note that walking around like that doesn't work very well.

Kate immediately got up to help him up, trying to keep her face directed away so he didn't get her cold.

"You all right?" She'll help him with his paperwork in a moment.

"I'm fine, thanks, sorry." Guppy says awkwardly, standing and trying to keep his hair draped over most of his face and not really succeeding. It's not quite long enough. "Wasn't looking where I was going."

"I can see that... Guppy? What happened? Do you need any ice for that?"

"It's okay, the swelling's gone down and it's not broken. But thanks."

Not at all evasive, no.

Kate frowned, "Ok... you answered the second question. Let's try for the first one now." She can be very stubborn and determined. Little wonder she relates to Will so well.

She gets a blanket wrapped around her by a sneezing Will,

"Yer tea smells good, love."

"Bless you. Peppermint, suggestion from the bar. Helps clear the sinuses a little."

Kate glanced back at him with a smile, "How are you feeling?"

"Been sneezin' all day, but been drinkin' 'ot chocolate an tea so little better, 'ow 'bout ye?"

Then sits down beside her, the blanket is a good excuse to wrap his arms around her.

Well, both of them sick, so can cuddle for warmth at least.

She nodded, "About the same, only more tea and less hot chocolate. Anything with dairy's usually not very good if you have a cold."

"Why na? Then 'rhaps should get some tea next an maybe some soup too."

Cuddling is good though sadly interspersed with sneezing so not that much kissing.

"Um, well, it adds to the mucus, that's what blocking up everything. There's too much of it in your system."

They'll likely make up for the lack later when they're well again.

"Chicken noodle's usually good for this, want me to order some and more tea for two?"
