Even for someone in shape, being outside in the elements can impact the immune system. Especially when said system is an enclosed environment with a high and varied population for long intervals of exposure to a variety of airborne diseases that is especially prevalent this time of year. What does this all translate to?

"Aaa-achoo!" Namely Kate's in the bar with a cold, with a box of tissues, hot tea, and medicine by her.

"More like it's that time of year, and my immune system probably was hurt by the cold weather, sure. You too?"

"Just a little cold, nothing, in truth," Teja says.

His speech is decidedly muffled, compared to his normal tone of voice, though.

"I take that as a yes," She dryly replied.

"It will happen if one runs out into the snow in the clothes made for working in a hot forge," Teja half-admits. "I have hot mulled mead to get warm again."

"Or running around in the snow in an uniform definitely not designed for winter weather, yes. I have tea." Holds up her mug, and her nose twitched. She quickly put it down and grabbed a tissue just before she sneezed again.

With his free hand, Teja got a pale rag from under his cloak, and rubbed his nose with it before he'd have to sniffle, or sneeze.

"Getting warm from the inside is good," he says.

And like Will did, Kate offered him the box of tissues.

"Here, these will help much more than that. A lot cleaner."

"Why would I need to wipe my nose with clean rags?" Teja asks. "They only get dirty and wet anyway."

"You throw these away so they don't get dirty and wet, and you don't get re infected by the same germs that made you sick," She explained as she continued to hold the box out to him.

Teja takes a tissue. "I'm not sick," he says. "I merely caught the cold. And what germs?"

"Common cold's a disease too. And it means you're vulnerable to other diseases. Germs are microorganisms that cause disease. They're very tiny, and get inside a person to infect them. Plus, while you're sick, you can spread that cold to other people."

"But I got it because I was cold the day before yesterday, at the snow battle," Teja argues. "That's not a disease."

he says nothing about germs for the moment; that sounds too outlandish.

Kate sighed, "I don't want to argue about this right now when we're both sick. Just ask Bar for a medical textbook sometime, or talk to Guppy or one of the doctors around here to explain it more in detail." She then blew her nose on another tissue, and threw it away in her little trashcan by her.

"I'm not sick," Teja says, sneezes, takes another tissue and then deposits it like he has seen her do it.

"But thank you!"

"I'm not going to argue it, but we both are. And you're welcome."

"I'm not going to argue," Teja says, "but I shall ask the bar for my own box of these. That rag gets acrid."

"See? Much cleaner, like I said."

"Thank you," Teja says. "This is a useful new invention, wasteful and unimportant though it seems."
