Outside a handful of paces away from the door a soccer ball pounces off the wall of the bar, bouncing back a few paces only to be kicked right back against it again; all the spots landing within the same location every turn. Lucas never played the sport in college- he was to busy competeing with Merle in track and sometimes fencing events. Mostly track though. Heck! Both of them had even made it to the Olympic trails until they quit.

The Prince snorted a laugh as he kicked the ball again with another ka-thunk against the wooden wall. It would have been interesting to see where they both would have placed had they actually gone through with it. But for now he can only dream of it as he kicks the black and white ball off the wall.

Anyone care to join him?

Lucas beamed. "Yeah...I never could just stay in the back dictating and shit. A true man never hides behind yada yada..or was it never have your men do something you wouldn't do." Giving a shrug of his shoulders he again touched the spot on his head where the ball had hit. "Course that means you gotta be a team player."

"Oh, I was, where fighting was concerned," Teja says. "I as leading my former equals, after all. I am dark, different and lonesome only when not called upon by duty."

"Dark, different, and lonesome is, well, different." Luke shruged his shoulders. His dad was all of the above except the lonesome. He might have been for all Lucas really knew but the man was constantly traveling about. A man couldn't be that lonely when doing that, right?

"There a lot of people like that here? I mean, kings and generals and he like."

"Indeed, there are," Teja says. "I have met the famous Roman general Mark Antony, the Spartan king Leonidas, and, more recently, Attila the Hun. There are a number of Greek goddesses here, too."

Of course, all those people he had studied while in school at Berkley but philosophy class never really covered the basic introductions to deities being, well, real. So please pardon the eyes widening as he stares at Teja.

"Real Goddesses. As in, the pantheons actually existing instead of filling some void in belief of a higher cause or plan that some thing has?"

"Oh, in my world, there were no gods," Teja says. "But there are worlds where they are real."

Pause.

"Would you ever have heard of Plato's Parable of the Cave?" he then asks. Just because this man would train with a ball does not mean he would be uneducated. Teja had been educated, for a man of his time and people, and he was training at arms every day, still.-
