Since he's on the run from SHIELD with boy genius Amadeus Cho, Hercules was not expecting the door he opened to bring him to a glorius bar.

So the 6' 5" tall barrel chested man (wearing a big yellow and green sash and, well, skirt combo) pauses, looking around for a moment. Then, with a mighty laugh, he walks straight up to the bar.

"A cask of thy finest ale!" he orders. "For it is glorious of Olympus to bestow such a gift on the Prince of Power as this tavern!"

"That is what I said!" Hercules says with a laugh. "Steve Reeves was too small, but he at least had the hair."

He smiles. "It is too fun to see the representations that mortal men create of us."

"There aren't that many of me, but some lovely statues and all these new pagans seem to think that Kore and I are important."

"Ahhh, the glory to be regarded as more than myth," Herc says. "Though my father was wise to bow Olympus out like he did."

The look he gets is a little harder now,

"Ah he did. Did he leave Greece or just Olympus?"

"You misunderstand," Herc says. "Allowing mortals to no longer worship the gods of Olympus."

"How can he stop mortals from worshiping?"

"He did not stop them," Hercules clarifies. "He merely broke Olympus' ties with Earth when Christianity began to rule in Greece and Rome."

Demeter is very quiet, there's an olive branch in her hand that she holds tightly,

"He left, chased out by Christianity?"

"That makes it sound as if he was acting in cowardice," Hercules said with a pout.

"Knowing my brother, he would."

"That is no way to speak of my father!" Hercules says, with a bit of force.

"He's my brother, I will speak of him how I wish."

"His actions were wise and Olympus has reasserted itself in many ways," Hercules says. "Merely not as simply gods to be worshipped.

"As gods who rule over mortals? Is his hubris that great?"

"I wish not to speak of this further," Hercules says.

"I know our worlds are different but I wish to understand what my brother is doing."

In this conversation, Hercules doesn't get to decide when its over.

"This was many years ago," Hercules says.

"And your brother currently does nothing, as he is dead."

Demeter feels a pang but curiousity wins out,

"How did he die? I don't wish revenge just knowledge since our worlds are similar but quite different."

"He sacrificed himself to free Alexander, son of Ares, from Amatsu-Mikaboshi," Hercules says.

Its a long time before Demeter answers, its hard to think of a world without Zeus and she squeezes the olive branch she's holding so tightly, it produces ripe olives.

"It is possible he still lives," Hercules says. "But he has not been seen since."

"If he lived, you would know."

That's just how Zeus is after all.

"I try not to think of it that way," Herc says.

"How do you think of it?"

"I wish to honor my father, of course," Herc says. "But I also wish to maintain hope."
