(no subject)

Some things Dean just doesn't believe he has to do. Killing cursed teddy bears is high on this list. So is having to listen to Sam mock him about his recent teddy bear fetish for hours.

College boy's just lucky this is for a case. Otherwise he'd have to walk to the next city.

Dean's still in a shitty mood when he and Sam make it to Milliways.

It shows. Maybe a beer will help.

Sam's buying. Dean is definitely not ponying up this time.

[ooc: Plotlocked today. Sorry!]

Angela, in the meantime, has been gathering up the remains of the picnic the bear had set up.

(As far as she can tell, the food is made of fabric, and doesn't smell at all like food.)

She rolls everything -- food, plates, basket, and decoy bear -- up in the blanket and hands it to Dean.

"Probably ought to burn these, too. Just, you know, safe side."

Plus, that way he never has to tell his little brother that he got hoodwinked by a decoy bear.

Sam stares at the fire, which is burning away merrily -- even cheerfully -- then at the girl he doesn't know, then at his brother.

"Since I'm betting I'm not going to get an explanation, I'll settle for that beer."

A beat.

"You're buying."

"No, I'm buying," says Angela. "Least I can do. I'm Angela, I'm guessing you're Sam, and can we just leave this here?" she adds, gesturing to the merrily burning bear bonfire.

"It's really starting to stink."

Scortched fabric softener, it turns out, reeks.

The small bear bonfire burns brightly behind them as they head back into the bar, with the occasional orange burst off gaily dancing flames.

And though very little else is, now, the scent of charred lavender and burning sandalwood is uplifted into the lakeside sky.
