It's too quiet lately, and Pan felt like making things more lively. Also, he was a little bored, and this was a very dangerous thing to be. Though, people can breathe a sigh of relief since the faun was wearing a goatskin skirt to ah cover up. He had some Atlantean where he sat at the bar and has just discovered the squiopera on the bar's TV. All those tentacles gave him some fun ideas, and it's a cute show to boot.

The tee-vee is on, and there are squid on it. That is to be expected of tee-vees.

There is also a faun watching the tee-vee squid. Neither of the fauns that Teja had met before. So the squid on the tee-vee get one interested look, and the faun gets another.

Pan grinned back at the man watching. "Fun show, hmm? They're really clever with their tentacles. And the things they slip under the ratings are even better."

"What are ratings, and why would they slip anything under them?" Teja asks. "There was a woman here, once, that watched quid on a tee-vee; but there was no talk of ratings."

"Oh something big with entertainment on the mortal planes these days. Silly limiting ratings, where you can't say certain words or show sex. How nice if they don't have it." He sipped some more of his Atlantean.

"Say certain words?" Teja asks. "What words would these be, that are forbidden?"

Why it should not be permitted to show sexual acts on a tee-vee seems rather more evident than forbidding words"

"Depends on the country, but usually anything to do with relieving one's self or sex seem to be the main no-nos. Mortals are so uptight. I mean just look at some of the rules here."

"I find the rules here are sensible," Teja says, "even though I might be in trouble with the first and second, should a dire enemy from my world turn up in this place. But relieving oneself? That is off-putting, but natural! Can people on tee-vee not excuse themselves because they have to use the latrines?"

That would be somewhat of a quandary, for these people.

"Well they can allude to it. Just depends how they say it. And enemies? Easy enough to scare them away." Another grin.

"If they were dead and would claim this was their afterlife, also?" Teja says. "They would not be easy to deter without breaking any rules, or, indeed, breaking them."

"Good thing the woods are so nice and deep. Welcome to send anybody bothersome to me and the lovely creatures. Had some words with somebody who really needs to get laid."

He finished his Atlantean, "Though the black eyes are a bit of a turn off."

"Brand of Amber??" Teja says, assuming Pan would mean solid black eyes, or they would not be worth mentioning -- his own are black, also, after all.

"You would...?"

Anybody would wish to do such a thing with Brand of Amber? Even a somewhat randy faun?

"He no longer has the black eyes; that demon left him. He is all himself again, but might not remember you," Teja adds.

To look at him, neutrally, the red-headed Amberite is not truly unattractive; it is just very, very odd to think anybody should consider him on such terms.

"Oh sure, the red hair reminds me of this shepherd with really great hands. Mmm, good with sheep and other things. But the demon's gone, hmmm... I might have to go have a little chat then." Very toothy grin.

"You would...?" Teja says. "Indeed, why should you not, in this place -- but even free of demons, he still is an Amberite. Faun or mortal man, a creature from one of the world would be just that to him -- a creature that one might be briefly entertained by."

Pan's voice became overladen with birdsong and rustling trees, the bleat of goats on a hillside.

"Oh, I'm much more than that, little Goth king. I remember your people running over my hills."

"More than a faun -- your hills, so you're one that would have been worshipped in the lands of Italy, of old," Teja says, amazed. "More than a faun -- you are Faunus, then! Pan, as the Greeks would call you."

A smile, and little bow back.

"Exactly. I usually go by Pan, but call me however you like." That said with a touch of a leer.

"Another Greek god," Teja says, nodding. "I am friends with Eirene and Demeter and the Gorgon, Medusa; I have met Ouranos, also -- and now Pan!"

He shrugs, somewhat amused.

"That is what I shall call you, then; all he others are named in Greek, also."

He nodded, and lounged in his seat, "I know them all very well. Though great-granddad? Hoooo, really uptight, but can't blame him really. Storms aren't enough of a tension reliever."

That and he suspects sooome envy. Maybe a little?

"I think he has that, beyond storms," Teja says, trying to keep his face straight -- he will not gossip about Greek deities.

So truly not!

Oh no? Aww, what a pity.

"Oh heard here and there he's got a mortal. Always better."

Sly grin at him, "You wouldn't say neeeeeigh to that wouldn't you?"

"He has, indeed," Teja says, refraining from mentioning the ring Ouranos would commission -- when they start giving rings to each other, things get serious. But that is not Teja's secret to spill. Even a smith must be discreet, at times.

"I would not what -- why should I neigh like..."

When he was a centaur -- Pan had seen him, then? With Tonio, even?

"Good for him, and about time for him. Artemis is good at the celibacy, but most aren't."

Pan gave a loud bleating laugh that rippled throughout the bar at Teja's reaction.

In a more conversational voice a few minutes later, he grinned, "It was an excellent story from that tree you were on, don't worry I keep many secrets. Glad you two enjoyed yourselves." And it related to worship, something always approving.

"The trees tell you things?" Teja says. "They would speak, say, about a centaur and a siren..."

He is not certain he likes that. Not truly.-

"Oh not just that, the woods are a pleasurable place to so many, and I think that should be encouraged. It's fun to let go and be free isn't it?"

He picked up his flute and started to play a song with notes of encouragement here and there.

"It is," Teja admits. "I can be freer in this place, which serves as my afterlife, than I was ever in life when I crossed your hills on the business of my people, always in haste."

Pause.

"And the trees here have given me shelter, also, some time ago, when I was sad and wished not for the company of men or, indeed, any speaking creature."
