Duo is sitting on top of a table in the bar. He's pretty relaxed at the moment, t-shirt and jeans, with a bottle of soda sharing the table with him.

His concentration is currently on the yo-yo he's practicing with. He's no expert, intermediate at best. But he can do a trick or two, and his lack of true skill certainly doesn't show when it's just going up and down.

Pretty mesmerizing, too.

X just looks at him.

"You are human."

Beat.

Beat.

"I am not."

Stitch grins. And then blinks in bemusement at X's statement. She is the recipient of a headtilt.

"If you're going to be classifying mutations as non-human, don't be so sure my square peg doesn't go in a round hole," Duo says in a dry tone. "Generations of extra radiation and junk doesn't really do a body good."

He may not sprout claws or fire energy fields, but a few hundred years of off-world living does interesting things. See: Newtypes.

"That is not the same thing."

Someone here is capable of being obstinate.

"Issa Person," notes Stitch. The "duh." goes unspoken.

What does her species have to do with anything?

"The little blue alien has a very good point," Duo says, giving up on that avenue of arguement for now. "It doesn't really matter, especially here."

She knows this.

"I do not forget."

That cryptic little gem is enough to wipe the flat look off his face.

"Gaba?"

"Yeah, I know. It shouldn't. It does at home for me, too." Duo shrugs. The he eyes Stitch. "You too, bud?"

X's own gaze flicks sideways, fixing on Stitch and holding.

"They want to kill us. Because we are mutants."

At this point she shrugs.

"They are afraid of you?"

That part is directed at Duo.

"'They' would be if they knew who I was. 'S classified."

The names and faces of the Gundam pilots were kept under pretty good wraps. Knowledge of who they were is not widespread.

"Oh."

X's shoulders hunch infinitisemally.

It will pass.

"I am sorry."

"Hey, who needs the good opinion of everyone on their planet, right? Besides, things'll change eventually. Until then, there's always Milliways."

Duo gestures at Stitch. "C'mere, man. Gimme that thing and I'll show you Walk the Dog..."
