Duo is sitting on top of a table in the bar. He's pretty relaxed at the moment, t-shirt and jeans, with a bottle of soda sharing the table with him.

His concentration is currently on the yo-yo he's practicing with. He's no expert, intermediate at best. But he can do a trick or two, and his lack of true skill certainly doesn't show when it's just going up and down.

Pretty mesmerizing, too.

"Bored?" Cathy asks, amused, drifting over from the Bar with a mug of coffee in her hands.

"Never," Duo says, eyes on the yo-yo. "This is an important life skill, you know. I could end up joining the circus. Don't mock me."

"A carnival, maybe," Cathy looks thoughtful. "Not much call for yo-yo tricks in the circus."

Hmm. The set up of the table is carefully observed, and she perches on a different edge from the soda easily as she speaks. "But who knows! Maybe you could win competitions! You'd need an introduction, though. Duo Maxwell, Yo-yo-er extraordinairre!"

She spreads her hands a bit, dramatically, (mug in one) but not enough to bump his shoulder.

He snorts at her, amused. "I could be a sideshow." He already is, half the time.

"And I dunno about 'extraordinaire'. Maybe the Amazing Duo who doesn't suck."

"You have to brag, really," she says, rolling her eyes. "If you say 'the Amazing Duo who doesn't suck' they'll just looks for ways to point out that you do. But if you say you are really awesome, they'll assume any mistakes were done on purpose!"

And this was a short lesson in show business, brought to you curtesy of the beautiful Catherine Bloom, knife throwing star of the circus. Now back to our usual programming!

"How've you and Heero been?"

"Busy. We haven't seen each other for a little while, what with the mission with your trouble-making brother and school starting again for him."

"Trowa's a mischief maker," Cathy agrees, quite solemnly (which is to say: not at all). "Oh, yeah? He figured out what he wants to do yet?"

Heero's definitely not her favorite of her brother's friends but...he's a nice guy. Kind of.

"Not exactly. I mean, he always puts himself 120% into stuff, but his goal has been changing lately. You know teenagers. So flighty."

'Flighty' is probably not a word that had been used to describe Heero Yuy until this point.

"Yeah," Cathy says, biting her lip. "But that's normal! I mean, when I was sixteen I almost left to be a dancer, so he shouldn't worry too much. He'll be good at whatever he decides on. I can't see him not."

For all adjectives used for Heero Yuy, slow is definitely not one of them.

"You two going to have dinner with us in Sanq? I mean, given your schedules and all? If you don't have free time I'll just let you guys hang out without me interfering with your 'boy time'."

Yes, those were cheerful finger quotes. WHAT?

"Oh, totally! Us boys need good feminine influences, yanno. If you can lasso the big T, I'll bring Heero. Where do you guys wanna go? Someplace snazzy, down home, take-out in the apartment...?"

"...I was going to say that we should all vote, but then I remembered what Trowa and Heero are like."

She shrugs, cheerfully, open-handed. "Snazzy's always fun! But so's take-out. I'm an awful, indecisive person." Cathy bites her lip, and glances over-and-up at Duo, trying to keep from looking ridiculously amused (she fails). "I guess swing dancing is out of the picture, huh? But it would be really super funny."

"...I don't know how, but it'd be funny watching you try and persuade Heero?"

Cathy brightens up about 100 killowats at the mental image, before deflating a little. "I don't even think I could pull that off. Heero's hard to bully into things."

She shrugs, not seeming too put out by this. "Okay: snazzy or not, we know we'll be eating food. That's progress!"

"Ooooh." comes an intruiged voice from the rafters. It may be in reference to the yo-yo, the soda or both.

One of Duo's eyebrows shoots up. That isn't the sort of voice you usually hear from the rafters.

Or else it's Steph Brown using a very funny accent.

"I'd do 'around the world', but I don't want the damages added to my tab," he says without looking up.

No figure appears quite yet, though Duo may be able to detect rapid clicking as something scurries to a better vantage point. Or, failing that, the snuffling that follows is rather loud.

"If you are a very big spider," Duo tells the scuffly noise, "there's a high possibility that I'll scream like a girl and use this yo-yo in a way that it was not intended to be used."

It wasn't ever really used as a weapon.

A bulbous head rises into view over the rim of the table not to far from the bottle of soda. Mmmmm soda.

"Holy-" Duo fumbles his next toss, and the yo-yo jitters to a halt. He stares at the ears, for a moment. And the blue fur.

"Well," he says, regaining his equilibrium. "Who are you?"

It's been a long while since Alfredo Linguini has been around and thus it's been a long while since Stitch has witnessed such an entertaining reaction. He snickers.

"Hiiiiiiiii."

"...hi. I'm guessing that's not actually your name, but y'know. Feel free to correct me."

At least he didn't actually scream?

Which only scores him an 8.5 as far as amusing reactions go, sadly.

"Name is Stitch." replies the creature peering curiously at the yo-yo.

"No kidding. I'm Duo." He re-winds the string, getting it ready to go again.

"You play?" Yo-yo, that is.

"Hmmm."

The Yo-yo is eyed a bit more critically. And then, rather suddenly it is reached for.

"Goobaja."

"I expect it back in the same condition I give it to you," Duo challenges. It's a cheap knock off of any of the good brands, but that doesn't mean he wants tooth marks on it.
