The Hurley that strolls into the bar today is actually quite happy.

Making a golf course was way too much fun. And it got everyone to relax.

So when he sits at the bar and orders himself a milkshake and a cheeseburger with fries, he's on top of the world.

There is a woman, a tiny thing even in her nicely heeled sandals, dressed in a rather pink dress, raising her eyebrows slightly at his meal.

Not him, just the meal.

Americans.

aimedforthemoon: (I...see...)

"Conducting an experiment," the Russian says smoothly. "American, I take it?"
aimedforthemoon: (conversation)

"Stalingrad Oblast," she replies, almost serene.
aimedforthemoon: (well. you suck.)

It would help explain the dress, if that style weren't back in fashion.

"To me, you are from future."
aimedforthemoon: (Esya)

"Esfir Shostakovna Yazycova."

Try saying that three times fast.

"Esfir's usually easier, though."
aimedforthemoon: (beautiful girl)

"Pleased to meet you."

Xaldin only comes inside for office supplies. The bar is too painful for him. Think ice cream headache.

Think ice cream headache over your entire body.

Every time the door opens.

He's still trying to build goodwill, however, so he nods politely to the Somebody at the bar.

[identity profile] sliceitwithwind.livejournal.com 2008-08-26 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
"Depends on your perspective." Xaldin says easily enough, "In generally accepted definitions of gravity, the rafters. I'm pretty sure that when I left this morning Xigbar had aligned himself and Rai so that the ocean was up. In terms of things going on, I'm out of staples again and trying to collate all of Vexen's reports without the ability to keep them together is like trying to get Demyx to answer a question straight."

[identity profile] sliceitwithwind.livejournal.com 2008-08-26 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
"Got to keep myself available for Rachel." Xaldin says with a shrug, "She's got our existence in the palm of her hand. It's easier for me to be here than for Xigbar, it just hurts me. It's agony for him.

"And he doesn't know my filing system, so he doesn't get to fuck with the reports."

[identity profile] sliceitwithwind.livejournal.com 2008-08-27 12:01 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, yeah." Xaldin says, "The atmosphere at the top of a mountain is different from at the bottom, in a city is different from in a forest. Normally people don't notice, it's slow and smooth, it blends into each other. The atmosphere between worlds is even more different. Every time that door opens it brings a change in the atmosphere here.

"It's like the biggest damn ice cream headache you've ever had from the top of my dreads to the soles of my feet."

[identity profile] sliceitwithwind.livejournal.com 2008-08-27 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
"Dude, you have no idea." Xaldin says in turn.

[identity profile] sliceitwithwind.livejournal.com 2008-08-27 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
"Bright side?" Xaldin offers, "Even if you did end up on a connected world, and got killed by the Heartless, and held on enough to be a Nobody, and managed to keep your original personality, form, all that - even if, we've never had a duplication in elements. So you probably wouldn't be Air."
