The Hurley that strolls into the bar today is actually quite happy.

Making a golf course was way too much fun. And it got everyone to relax.

So when he sits at the bar and orders himself a milkshake and a cheeseburger with fries, he's on top of the world.

"That works to an extent." Xaldin allows, "I see myself mostly in Xigbar."

"Dude, where's that?" Hurley says.

"Xigbar is a he, not a where." Xaldin says with an affected smile, "He's been my best friend since I was three days old."

"Oh, neat," Hurley says. "That's cool. I... yeah, always good to have friends."

"I wouldn't exist without him." Xaldin says and that's - a lot more true for him than it would be for most people who might say something like it.

"Wow," Hurley says. "Save your life?"

"Defines my existence." Xaldin corrects, "I'm not exactly alive. I'm also not exactly dead, or undead. I'm a Nobody, I'm not quite real. Neither is he. I need him to keep me focused."

"...okay, yeah, that also went over my head," Hurley says. "Sorry."

"I'm an abomination on the face of the universe." Xaldin simplifies, "Because my being is made up of Air and Nothing I am literally an Air-head. Without Xigbar I start to fade into non-being."

"...Yikes," Hurley says. "I hope that doesn't happen, man."

"Ten years so far. And the end is finally in sight."

"...end?" Hurley says.

"There's a woman named Rachel. She can fix us." Xaldin believes this because he needs to. He's tired.

"Hey, there's something cool to look forward to," Hurley says.

"As much as I can, yes." Xaldin agrees, "I can't as much as if I were a Somebody, but it's a very good thing."

"Well soon... you will be somebody?" Hurley says.

"A Somebody." Xaldin corrects, "That means someone with a heart."

"Dude," Hurley says. "You have no heart? Wow that's got to suck."

"Oh yes." Xaldin says softly, "It does."

"...maybe you can get one transplanted?" Hurley says.

"Not that easy, dude." Xaldin says with a shrug, "I don't have any biology right now. Someone is giving us hearts, and all the rest of it."

"Oh, well, hey," Hurley says. "Score there, right?"

"Yeah." Xaldin says, "Score there."

"Excellent. Let me know when you're all... Somebody-ed up. I'll buy you a drink or an ice cream cone or something."
