Its been raining for the past week in Nottingham so Will beams with gratitude when he finds a door to the Bar.

After a few moments, he is stretched out on a couch with hot chocolate, soup and his cloak drying by the fire as he feels dry for the first time in days.

Viscen's never heard of them.

"Have you seen them?"

"Just for a moment, aye, sir."

He's paying rapt attention.

"What was it like?"

"Dinna 'ave the words, sir, knew I was one o'Sherwoods."

"That's something. Really something. It seems you've been touched by the gods."

He's nothing but serious.

Will blushes which makes him look much younger,

"I'm 'onored that they would e'en notice me."

"You must be blessed, and destined for great things." He's smiling.

"There's loads of potential in a young man like you."

"All I am, Robin 'as brought out o'me, sir."

"Who's that?"

"The man I serve, Robin o'Locksley."

"He must be a good man, if he's the one who taught you."

"Aye, 'e is, finest one I know."

Viscen gives him a warm smile. It's always nice to see young people speak well of their elders.

"Does your forest have a Guard of some kind? To defend against the dangerous creatures?"

"Na quite, sir."

"Ah, it must be very dangerous then!"

The thought alarms him a bit.

Will absently rubs his wrist again,

"Aye, tis."

This time Viscen doesn't call attention to it.

"You've training, though."

It isn't really a question.

"Oh aye, sir, can fight with bow an blade."

"Impressive! A bow would serve you well in the forests of Termina. It's rare to meet someone who can handle bow and blade together."

"Need 'em both in Sherwood. Can fire a longbow, use a staff an sword though Robin's the finest with a bow in all England."

"With skilled men like that, I suppose you hardly need a Guard."

And boy does it pain him to say it.

"The people o'Nottingham need protection as much as we can give 'em."

Viscen gives him a solemn stare.

"Then you are a Guard, of a sort. There's nothing more noble than protecting the innocent."

"Aye, o'a sort."
