The Pam who's found herself in Milliways is a very different Pam than the one who made an appearance previously.

For one, this Pam is wearing considerably more clothing, even if it counts as what some of her co-workers would accuse her of being too "New York". (She still hasn't figured out what that even means.)

And, unlike the last time, this Pam is smiling. Quite widely, in fact, until her cheeks start hurting.

Because this Pam is entering Milliways through a door from her new home. Their home, she thinks to herself with a happy chuckle as she practically bounces toward the bar.

[Life isn't fun for meteor freaks in Smallville. But sometimes, cures may offer a hopeful future. After investigation, a decision is made. But not everyone is happy about it. And in the end, the right decision might've been the wrong one. Good thing Clark is around to save the day.]

It's been a few days since Clark rescued her from Dr Knox. She's spent most of them at home, safe in her room. That cure had been within her grasp. She could've been normal, she could have gone on to live a normal life. Chloe Sullivan would have sacrificed anything for that.

Including the memories of those she loves, the reason for the recent hermitage.

How's she supposed to explain any of this to Riley or AC, let alone Clark?

When she walks into the bar, she isn't exactly her cheerful and inquisitive self. Getting a non-fat, no-foam latte, Chloe finds a booth in the back. She sets up her laptop and begins to work on apologies.

She'll figure out something to say. Eventually.

Lissar is resting at the bar, which is far different from sleeping at the bar, with a book on internal combustion engines of the past and an iPod set to shuffle.

After seeing the play with Teja, Demeter is more worried about Carlotta and is trying to keep herself from worrying too much by going through gardening catalogs.

There's a mug of tea beside her that she hasn't touched at all and her gaze is wandering around the Bar.

It ain't that Dean can't sleep, just there's no good reruns on TV, the 24-hour diner isn't, and he's got a sudden craving for pie.

Really.

That's his story and he's sticking to it. But at least he left a note for Sam--just in case the kid wakes up.

Which is why Dean's currently sprawled out in a booth, half a piece of cherry pie in front of him and a half-full bottle of beer in his hand.

Maybe coffee'd be a better bet. He'll try that in a minute or two.

Bella is back in Milliways. This comes as both a relief and a surprise as:

1. She was late to a lecture.
2. She postpones the grave glare of Herr Professor Wilhelm Strichner, who will no doubt be Most Upset about her tardiness.
3. She needs a bit of a break, as she spent most of last night writing to her family and observing what appears to be a comet.

Bothering, as well as offers of caffeine, will be appreciated.

Ingress is lying on her stomach on the rug by the fire, drawing with markers on a big drawing pad. The markers are those scented kind that smell of apples, chocolate, grapes, etc. They make things even more fun, you see. She's wearing her glittery blue shoes, which are kicking in the air as she colors.

It's something she's always enjoyed doing on her visits to Milliways. She'll draw a picture for you, if you ask!

It's raining in London. (It often is.)

When the door of the abandoned house Kim is trying opens onto Milliways instead of the expected room, she perks up. Even the prospect of working another shift clearing tables is worth it if it means she can dry out by the fire first.

She slips inside, taking off her sodden cap and wiping rain off her face, then makes a beeline for the fireplace. Brrrr.

Hodgins has been very vigilant about the Bugs In Bug Places rule. With good reason. Bugs stay in bug places (i.e. in the basement of his house) and Angela continues to live with him.

Hodgins is more than happy with that trade off.

Still, he likes to get the little guys out for some play time every now and then.

Which is why there is ten inches of African Giant Millipede roaming around on Hodgins’s table, twining its way over and around its carrying case, Hodgins’s elbows, his book and his coffee mug.

Angela has found a table where the light is good and is in the process of painting her nails a deep, deep blue flecked with silver glitter. (It's not her usual looks, but it was in the clearance bin at the drugstore, and it caught her attention. Besides, she likes the name, "Up All Night.")

Anyone else for a do-it-yourself manicure?

Tyler has a legal note pad, a selection of pens, a small frown of concentration, and a decent seat at a table with pretty good lighting and no view of the Observation window. He's trying to put together something, and it's tricky to concentrate with the fireworks going off.

Still, conversation is important to the creative process. Come, talk.

[oom: Carlotta's school play trip doesn't go quite according to plan. And there are repercussions, 1940s style.]

Carlotta is in the rafters, bearing the expression similar to that which she would normally wear whilst venting with a lot of spanish swearing.

This time, she mutters only four words under her breath.

"It was worth it."

Parker's fingers are skipping rapidly over the keys of her laptop this evening.

No internet in Milliways (hey--no place is 100% perfect). But Parker can still draft emails to send later. She's been bad and slacked off over the last few weeks, between Halloween and her classes accelerating toward the end of the semester.

Thank goodness for Milliways style time management.

Kate doesn't get it. If a person can come in through the front door and then have it disappear on them and reappear at some point, can't the same thing happen with the ceiling if that's where you came in?

It's not that what's out there is so much better -- the food, drinks, and real beds here are an improvement over the island fruit, recycled rain water, and plane blankets on sand -- but it's just the idea of being as stuck here as she was on the island that nags at her.

On the island, there was a thin thread of hope for rescue. Here there's... hoping to see a door that she's never actually seen in the first place.

She carefully climbed up into the rafters again tonight just so she could check out that part of the ceiling over the spot near the bar she first fell to, but it seemed as solid as ever. On the way back down, her hair escaping her ponytail, she jumped down onto the table of a booth by the wall and then hopped back to the floor from there.

With both feet firmly on the floor again, she dusts her hands off on her jeans and glances toward the bar itself. It's a good time for a beer or two.

Andrew's in the bar. For once, the book he's reading isn't something for work; just a battered paperback titled N-Space, with cover art depicting planets and asteroids against a backdrop of stars.

He's also got a cup of coffee, and a plate of oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.

He might share.
