Happy Hour

All Kara wanted was a soda. Which, truthfully, she does get, but it's accompanied by a napkin. She stares, reads it twice, and eyes the bar suspiciously. "Seriously? I don't know how to do this." Bar helpfully supplies a comprehensive bartender's guide, which takes maybe five minutes to read through.

Okay, then.

Specials
Farmer's Cocktail
Sun Shake
Star Burst

Never let it be said this El is a slow learner, or that she can't color code things with the best of them. Happy hour is a-go.

The scene: a beach

Facing away from the now-open door is a young man in somewhat unusual clothing. He seems to be in the middle of a solo:

"No, no! I must remain in close concealment,
Until I can appear in decent CLOthing.
"

As he starts the last word, he does a quick step-and-turn backward. Unfortunately, he doesn't seem to be expecting the Bar, and trails off with little grace or drama.

Kida is outside, today, just walking the lakeshore. The grass is warm, and damp under her bare soles, and pleasant in the sun. The lines of her skirt sway against tanned legs, as she thinks. Damian was interesting to meet; despite being new to her, and like nothing she's ever seen in Atlantis, he was nice.

She isn't planning to meet anyone, out here, though she also has no plans to interrupt by meeting her.

[OOC: mun says botherable, open all day, to anyone. She needs to be socialized.]

There's a man by the fireplace, writing little bits and pieces in a very beaten up notebook. He's rather deep in thought, but botherable.

(Slow time for a few hours. My library books are going to be overdue, and I need to return them).

Right. Back.

Herr Engineer figured out how to divide by zero today.

The Medic didn't think it was possible for anything to leave behind the body parts that were all that was left afterward. And this is a man who regularly works with Herr Demoman.

He's been asked to put aside the transplantation experiments and look into whether cloning from said handful of parts might be scientifically feasible. The handful of books he's got on the subject are... not promising. Hence there is an extremely grumpy-looking German fellow at a table by the window, with a small, well-emptied glass and a tall, skinny, strong-smelling bottle close at hand.

A day doesn't have to have the RED Pyro in it to be one of those days after all.

A young man in a rumpled, ash-streaked suit (early twentieth century by the look of it) steps into the bar carrying a large atlas and a small pencil.

He seems unconcerned that he's just stepped into the bar at the end of the universe, but as he just came from having tea with a dragon who gave him a primer for translating an atlas of imaginary worlds, that could just be a matter of perspective.

He finds himself a seat at the bar, orders tea distractedly and sets about his work, mumbling to himself under his breath in several different languages as he flips through the pages of his atlas.

Occasionally, he makes notes in the margins, and the recurring phrase, "Here, there be dragons," can be heard every so often, always in a different language.

It doesn't take long, even for him, to gauge the general mood of the place.

I didn't do it.

[OOM: Moon takes Damian to her world where he's able to swim in the ocean for the first in centuries. Mild warning for skinny dipping.]

Guppy, having got permission to do so, leaves notes at the bar.

Once that's done, he settles in a booth with his sign up.

Over on one of the couches? A goddess and her book.

In this case, Athena and a copy of Cormac McCarthy's The Road. As anyone who has read it before will attest, it is depressing as all Hell.

As such, she probably wouldn't mind some company to cheer her up.

(Or at least, recommend another book.)

Carlotta is bored. And worried how she's going to explain that broken drainpipe at home.

She sits with a book on basic home repairs, trying to work out if she could conceivably fix it herself if her foot heals up before anyone notices it's broken. Probably not a good idea.
