Bonzo is sitting in the Bar, sipping some drink or another. He looks like he's come in from a run of some sort...and he probably smells of it.

He's also occasionally glancing over his shoulder to see if anyone's watching/trying to sneak up on him.

As much as he likes Milliways, Nathaniel knows life goes on. He heads down into the bar, leaving a note for Asher, letting the vampire know he's gone back to St. Louis.

He needs to make sure he swaps various shifts at the club, and he misses the rest of the pard. Nathaniel just misses life back home. So, with a quick glance behind him, he opens the door and heads out of Milliways and into the bedroom he shares with Anita and Micah in St. Louis, smiling as he shuts it behind him.

There has been a lot to think about, lately - he's been back a month, and been around (just keeping to himself, to avoid confrontation with certain individuals) while a lot has happened. A lot has changed, and the situations continue to change almost every hour.

Change is constant and most people would say it was necessary. Especially in a place like Milliways, where almost everything changes on a constant basis. Be it the view out the Window or the weather out back, nothing is predictable and you always have to be on your toes.

For an outlaw, the feeling of having to always be on your toes can get exhausting after awhile - like it has for Doc. That's not saying that he's not alert to his surroundings and the current scenario (who has weapons, who might be a threat, how many people are between him and the back door) because he is always paying attention.

This morning, however, a bit of his attention that might normally be spent on keeping a watchful eye on things is focused on a steaming cup of coffee in front of him. Black, with a spoonful of brown sugar and a shot of whiskey stirred in - as far as Doc is concerned, it requires constant monitoring.

(Okay, so he's tired and trying to avoid getting out of his chair in an effort to postpone heading out to the stables to take care of the morning's chores. Give a man a break, would you?)

And drinking.

Outlaw. Coffee. No donut.

Gun at his hip.

(Don't steal the coffee. Things will get ugly in a hurry.)

[ooc: Just a reminder note that this is the older!Doc who has been hanging around for the last month. He's in his mid-thirties with shorter hair, even if some of his icons/expressions are the younger version - I don't have doubles for all the faces he might need to make in conversation. Botherable, and I'm around - but if I fall asleep, apologizing in advance. :D Open 'til Thursday.]

Have you ever had those days where every little thing just rubs you the wrong way? The kind of day where no matter how many smiles and warm fuzzies you receive, you still just want to scream out or hit something? Well, Val has been having one of those months.

It all started right after she helped rescue Boo from that hideous woman Cruella, at least that's when Val noticed it first, and it has been building ever since. She's managed to not explode at anyone since her time in the cells but she did hit her uncle once. While he may have deserved it, lashing out like that is not something Val is used to. And so she has been keeping to herself as she tries to figure out what is going on.

She's tried her father's approach and spent a lot of time designing new devices. This worked for a while but without Weyland around, she's not supposed to build anything at the Forge so that quickly became frustrating in its own way.

She's tried her mother's approach to stress but quickly discovered she is too restless to mediate or correctly hold the yoga poses.

So today she is outback at the heavy bag trying her uncle's method of dealing with stress, namely clobbering. She's quickly coming to the conclusion that this would be a lot less annoying if she had someone to hold the bag and keep it from swinging so much.

Meg is taking a break from the tasks of getting her apartment organized and getting a baseball game planned, and has settled in with a mug of tea and a murder mystery. (She is only three chapters in, but already fairly certain that the victim's chauffer is going to turn out to be his long-lost son, and the murderer. And she's right.)

The baseball rule book sits on the table, though. Right next to a shopping list of things she needs to buy for her kitchen.

Parker is prepping for a job. Which, in her world, means once again crawling the entire air duct system of her apartment building. It's good practice, especially changing floors without being heard and not being distracted by Fred, the pug downstairs who seems to know her by smell and always trots over to the vent to try and lick her as she passes. She does the complete building run in under an hour (44:07, specifically) and pushes open the grate that will drop her back into her bedroom.

Imagine her surprise when she hits the floor and finds herself in a bar.

"Shit."

Micah's put off going back to St. Louis for a while now. It's so tempting to stay in the Bar, where the Council isn't, and the problems of their world stay firmly on the other side of the door. But even he knows not to push it too far, lest whatever god there might be out there--or in here, as he's learned--bring those problems in after them. And the rest of the Pard that hasn't come in needs their leaders as well. It can't always just be him and Anita (in fact it rarely is), when Nat's with Asher and Liz is with...whoever Liz decides to be with.

It's with a sigh he leaves a note for Anita, if she decides to check, and heads out the door again.

Damian's long-absent door has appeared today. He has been getting so used to not seeing it that he didn't notice its presence until late in the evening. There had been a time when he worried that his door would never reappear, but he had the quiet assurance of Nat and the others that the doors appear in good time, and, especially in a pan-dimensional portal, time is something he has in abundance.

It seems that nearly all the others from St. Louis have travelled back themselves, so Damian doesn't even bother trying to find Anita to ask her permission to exit the bar. Instead, he leaves a small note for Moon -- a simple 'thank you' for her companionship and their trip to the green sea -- and steps through his door.

There might be a backward glance and a small smile from the green-eyed vampire. He has forgotten to recover the gaudy costume he had been wearing when he first entered Milliways from the employee lounge of Danse Macabre.

What a pity.

The door closes softly behind him.

Anita comes down to the bar, and, upon asking for a cup of coffee, is given a letter left for her by Micah. She reads it, finishes her coffee, and heads on back up the stairs.

In about half an hour, she comes back down, dressed in jeans, button down shirt, and coat -- which hides her small arsenal of weapons. On either side of her are Jean-Claude and Richard, the vampire dressed as stylishly as ever, and the werewolf in jeans and a comfortable t-shirt.

In silence, the St. Louis triumvirate make their way to the door, opening it up and leaving Milliways behind without a backward glance.

It's Happy Hour so Mike is behind Bar, he's just not standing behind Bar.
No, what he's gone and done is move one of the low backed bar stools to where he normally stands, and plopped himself down.
He looks...in a word, terrible.

But he's here.
And he's determined to make the best of it, which is why he has on his best and brightest Hawaiian shirt.

Mia was going to start her classes at the Magic Guild today. That ended up being put on hold thanks to a tag-team pregnancy symptom effort of backache, stretching ligaments, and restless mind keeping her from sleeping much if at all last night.

She's not too clear on how she got here. She was on her way somewhere, either the bathroom or the kitchen, and figured Milliways would be as good a place as any once she discovered the change. She's collapsed on a sofa within mostly comfortable walking distance to the lavatories. On a nearby table is an open sleeve of saltine crackers that she's been nibbling on and a glass and pitcher of ice water, complete with a straw.

Mia would love to sleep, but she's too tired.

Whiff.

So. Sari signed up for the baseball game in the middle of the month.

Whiff.

Thing is, she's never actually played baseball except in video-game form. So, obviously, she needs to practice.

Whiff.

Thus far, her practicing has consisted of getting a bat and ball from the Bar, going out back, tossing the ball into the air, and attempting to hit it as it comes down.

Whiff.

As you can imagine, this isn't working very well.

Whiff.

Somebody please offer to pitch to her? Or get her a T-ball rig? or something?

Asher has been content to while away his time in Milliways, rather than return to St Louis. It seems, however, that his fellow St Louis citizens are departing the bar, one by one. He had planned to spend the evening with Nathaniel, and yet judging by the note that Bar has given him upon his waking, his leopard has already departed.

Still clutching the note in his hand, Asher walks towards his door, taking a deep breath before walking through, back into his bedroom at the Circus of the Damned.

The late night will see a brunette settled in a bikini, on a towel, on her rock. Yes, she's claimed it. The rock and towel and her hair are wet because she's already taken a dip in the lake. Now, she's currently on her back, eyes tracking some of the starts in the night sky. The bar feels a little empty without her Pardmates from home here, now that she's had their energy around constantly.

She's mostly botherable. Though full moon is on Friday so she may not have the best temper if you aren't family or nice.

Light is discreetly angry.

He's nursing broken ribs, a recently fused arm in a sling, and a big black eye.

He half considered trying to kill Rem here and now, by writing her name down on the scrap of note he has with him. But that would be suspicious so soon after the attack. No, better to try and play the good kid.

So instead, he passes his time being Bound with studying difficult maths problems. He looks the picture of misery trying to do them with one arm; his book keeps sliding and making his writing untidy.

There is one Kanon Sumeragi outside the bar, sitting on a low but strong branch on one of the trees. He had been sitting by the lake, which had been far more comfortable, but then a few demonic bunnies had dared to try to come out and eat his pants.

He needs his pants, so there it is. In a tree, looking at a book, but still aware of everything around him.
