Will's outside at the archery range, its a good thing to do as he thinks about what maybe coming this tax time.

Also he's worrying about Guppy though at least Kate's doing better.

"Better than you know. Be confident, Will."

She gets a small nod and hug as he finally opens the pizza box,

"Should eat an glad am bein' an aid."

"Didn't I say so before?" Wry look before she reached into the box to grab a slice for herself.

The pizza's good so he eats quietly before giving her a smile,

"Aye, ye did just love ye so much an worry too much."

She finished her slice, and nodded, "You do."

"Aye, I know. What else did she give us?"

Kate grabbed a napkin to wipe her hands off before opening the baskets.

"Got some thermos here, bet it's tea or maybe hot cider."

"Some cider would be nice."

He peers over her shoulder,

"Tis a book in 'ere too."

"Is it? Oh, huh. Should we even look?" She warily pulled out the book.

The book is green and he carefully reads the title,

"The Givin' Tree, do ye know it?"

Kate nodded, and smiled with a bittersweet smile.

"Years ago. My mom used to read it to me sometimes."

He strokes her hair,

"Oh aye, what's it 'bout?"

"Generosity and sacrifice. Could just read it and find out." She leaned against him, and then turned her head to kiss his cheek.

He shifts to kiss her on the mouth before starting to read the first page, holding her safe in his arms.

One of her hands moved to link with his free one as she glanced down at the pages. Listening to the old story of a boy and a kind tree.

As he reads, his voice shifts to more of a storytelling one, his accent a little richer as the story just feels like home to him.

She didn't want to interrupt, but she couldn't help whispering softly to him, "Thinking of the Great Oak back home?"

"Aye, love, keepin' us safe."

"Mmm-hmm, sometimes like to think of the old mansion that way. The clubhouse is nice, but the mansion's got history, you know?"

"Watchin' o'er ye."

He kisses her hair and neck,

"Goin' to miss just 'avin' ye beside me but 'opefully time will be kind to us."

"Pretty much," She agreed, and she leaned her head back against him.

"I'll miss you, but we both need this. Our worlds need us."

"Aye, they do."

He runs his hand down along her arm and hugs her tightly,

"Would love to just 'old ye an be as close as we can this night, Kate."

"Who says we're not? I don't have plans, do you in your busy sparring and chocolate schedule?" Teasing tickle to his side.

He laughs and puts the book down so he can kiss her with a good bit of passion.

Mmm, she does like those kisses, and made sure to kiss back with equal passion in return. She pulled closer to him as her fingertips came around to tickle the nape of his neck.
