Clark isn't too surprised when he opens the door to the Talon and finds Milliways instead. What does surprise him is the date on the calender behind the counter. He stares at it for a couple of minutes, thinking, then heads back home. About ten minutes later he comes back with a wrapped package and scribbles a quick note to Lois, asking Bar to alert the pain in the ass to her present the next time she's around.

That settled, he wanders out the exit to find Chloe and figure this Green Arrow stuff out.

The Door is nudged open, revealing what appears to be a makeshift lab in the Southwest, if the spare vegetation in shades of red and brown outside the visible window behind her is to be believed. A woman walks through, obviously not paying attention to her surroundings, and flipping through a folder of papers. About two feet into the bar she stops, reaching out to grab something - from thin air, as there isn't a table in front of her. She glances up from her reading and blinks, eyes widening immediately afterward, and she drops the folder before turning and fleeing through the door, slamming it shut firmly.

Of course, the door opens again a minute later, with the brunette peering warily around the side. She needs that damn paperwork, you see, and a bar where her bedroom should be is only going to startle her once. Or maybe twice, depending on if she gets any sleep after the previous nights events. Running over some crazy guy on the loose is not conducive to being well rested. The papers are still where she dropped them, and the scientist makes her way over to that spot slowly, kind of wishing she had Darcy's taser on hand. Just in case.

Welcome to Milliways, Doctor Foster.

Windmill number four went online today. Ellen is thrilled. They're going to have to start raiding other factories soon to get spare parts for the assembly line machines, but there's power flowing now. Chances are looking up. Might as well celebrate.

By slicing cardboard and paper into shapes that can then be assembled into a mock-up of the factory, inserting tiny lightbulbs, and then laying down lengths of insulated wire to connect the building to what looks like minuscule metal windmills in the making. Look, some people celebrate differently than others. She'd be happy to explain if asked.

When Red comes in (through the back door, as always; she keeps stumbling across Milliways via the woods) today, she stops at Lady Bar first. "Could I have something to leave a note with, please?"
The Bar gives her the finest paper she's ever seen (she wonders if even Mary's come across anything like it before) and... some kind of stick? After a bit of trial and error, she works out which end is meant to leave a mark.
note for Charles Xavier )
"See to it that Charles gets this, please?" she says, folding the note and setting it on Bar's surface. After it disappears, she gets a sandwich and a beer and takes them to a table.
(She's not sure if she actually is ready, and as such may end up out at the firing range, loosing her nervous energy on the targets.)

(OOC: Feel free to tag her inside or outside. If Charles tags in, anything else will be Millitimed to before their conversation.)

[OOM: Kate's investigation of the missing children is not going well. Kate also learns that life, like Gotham, likes to kick you in the teeth and stab you in the kidneys when you are down. Warnings for allusions to drowning maybe?]

Thump. Thwack.

Someone is doing their best to ruin the heavy bag outside today. That someone is wearing black and red and has a prominent bat symbol on her chest. That someone also usually wears a cape (which is currently draped over a branch) but is forgoing it as she puts everything into the punching bag. Punching bags aren't ones for being confused by capes anyway. That certain someone is using punches, elbow jabs, kicks, knees and any other part of her body to do some serious damage to the bag.

You might even think that someone is trying to get something out of their system but you'd have to ask that someone yourselves cause she scares this narrator when she gets like this.

When Lois comes in she's rubbing her eyes--again. Noticing where she is, she even mutters to herself about 'come here after a good day for once,' but once she makes her way to the Bar, she notices the date. After a few moments--and realizing that no, really, Bar time is different than her time--she beams. As she does so, a slice of rum cake appears. "Okay, you're awesome," she tells the counter.

Which is when a package with a note joins the cake.

After the requisite ripping off the terrible wrapping job, she stares before beaming again. It's a great present. And then she finally reads the note.

One long pause later, she writes a note of her own--pauses again--adds a post-script. Doesn't do to be too nice, after all.
note to Clark Kent )

A few minutes later she's at a booth, alternating between cake, gleefully reading her new book, and eying the card with some confusion. Unexpected birthdays are strange.

Steve is curled in a booth with a stack of books about Scotland and an open sketchbook.

The commission from Mr. Urquhart is not difficult, though landscapes were never his specialty. Still, he's having a hard time making even the sketch to his satisfaction.

Finally he shuts the books and puts them aside, and turns to a fresh page in his sketchbook. He looks around for a new subject, a new face to draw.

Maybe it's yours.

There's a small blue dragon investigating the bar.  She has scampered from up in the rafters, climbed back down the walls, up on every barstool not currently occupied, and is currently exploring the table area.

Has the small dragon brushed by you?

A huge tray of baked goods adorns the top of the bar, tonight, when Sunshine puts up the specials board. Lack of sleep the night before gave her plenty of extra time for baking today - and the times when the dough was rising gave her the opportunity to lie out in the hot sun outside.

Bar had been nice in giving Rae a heads-up about bartending tonight, so there is a smiling - if tired - baker behind the bar, in a lime-green t-shirt and purple jeans. And there are signs. The drinks on special are as colorful as the bartender's clothing. This is, of course, deliberate.

Tonight there was a State Dinner that seemed to drag on forever and Sam was glad to find a door to Milliways instead of his room. He's still in his Wallmaker's surcoat, though its a little rumpled at this point in the night.

Since he's been looking for a door, he has a recently finished commission in his pocket and drops a velvet bag on the counter as he writes a note.

For Ava )

After the note and necklace disappear, he looks around the Bar to see if he sees anyone he knows. His days keep feeling full and he keeps hoping that perhaps he'll see Nick here as he's still living in Ancelstierre or that there might be another letter from Kait.

(OOC: As with the Tumnus' EP, open until I say its not. I have a little time before my next round of stuff and miss RP.)
