Serenity's got about another 32 hours before they hit Ezra.
The waiting before a job is usually the worst part, and today Mal is feeling it more so than others. He's checking in with the bar when he receives an eyepatch and a watergun the likes of which he hasn't seen since that ridiculous Assassin game in April.
There's a smirk when he shoves the eyepatch into his pocket, hopping behind the bar and scrawling out a sign before asking Bar for a 3' by 5' cloth.

Mal walks out the door to the lake, damn near whistling.
[ooc: I'm on gchat for any coordinating that might want to happen. Uh. It's not a huge boat, but it'll do. I'll put up an organizing post somewhere if this gets people involved.
ETA: This thread is for any arrivals if you are participating in shenanigans.
ETA AGAIN: OOC COMMUNICATIONS.
And it continues: The Battle Thread. Onlookers welcome.
And food for the spectators. And the winner, obviously.]

"Maybe."

He brandishes a sword.
"Let her go, you dirty pirate!"
(Please don't let Elizabeth yell at him.)

Guess which one he actually holds up. (Neither are loaded.)
"She came over here willin', you scurvy whore!" :O!!!

"One wife's not good enough for you?"

Until now.
Jack is Jack, with all his talk of eunuchs, but this is really just too much. It's abruptly clear what she must do.
"No. He has never fallen short of my highest expectations," Elizabeth states boldly, lifting her chin. "And I appear to be on the wrong ship. My husband's honor needs defending!" A meaningful look. "Mr. Gibbs, you are free to choose sides."
With that, she lifts her elbow to knock against Mal's arm, the one holding the water gun, and makes for the Dutchman.

Mal's having problems keeping a straight face, but he can't resist taking a shot of the watergun at Elizabeth's back.
Crap. Not yet loaded.
"Ammunition!" Mal calls, passing the gun to Inara.

He focuses on his wife, and moves forward. One second on his own ship...
...the next grinning Jackishly at Mal from close quarters.
"I'll be taking my wife back, now."
And he does.
Oh hey, it works. It must be because she's (temporarily at least) crew.

Well, he feels ridiculous.
But it's funny, and it's more than he's laughed in a good long while.
Regardless of that, the gauntlet has been thrown.

How can she defend his honor when he's retrieving her like a misplaced...
Wait. Did he just successfully rescue her? Without losing his sword or getting knocked unconscious?
:O!
Elizabeth's eyes widen, then she gives him a congratulatory kiss and declares: "Surrender!" Beat. "By order of the Pirate King!"

"Respectfully. Miss."

He doesn't say 'Aye, avast!', but he says it with his eyes.
